Well what do you know suddenly an investigation is wanted. Guess Kavanaugh was lying too hard for even the GOP to ignore.

 

I guess Ford was lying too hard for even the world to ignore. Now they are going to investigate her entire life and expose her for they lying sack of crap she is.

This is close to what I want. I would prefer two weeks, but.... There is at least an effort to allow professionals to find leads which the Senate can turn into a witness list. Its very possible both are 100% sincere here. Assuming that Ford is telling the truth, if Kavanough cannot remember because he was drunk, and cannot imagine himself doing such a thing, then he is not knowingly perjuring himself. I think a case can be made that this one incident in high school should not be a deal-breaker. It does oblige the Senate to take a cursory look into the college ones as well though.

But newly released emails show that Kavanaugh appeared to be the primary person handling Pickering’s nomination, at least by 2003, and was heavily involved in pushing for his confirmation as early as March 2002. There are emails showing that Kavanaugh coordinated meetings with and about Pickering; that he drafted remarks, letters to people on the Hill and at least one op-ed for then-White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales about Pickering; that he advised Gonzales on Pickering strategy; and much more.

One Department of Justice official even asked for Kavanaugh’s “blessings and instructions” before calling the nominee.

Others may have been involved, but Kavanaugh played a decisive leadership role in managing Pickering’s nomination and then lied to me about it.

 

I do, though if it were a criminal case I wouldn't be at "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Kav did it given what I know so far. Then again, that standard is too high for this situation and more information may come out now that it will be investigated by actual investigators, and not hacks in the senate.
