To get the full reason why I made the comment, I made a post yesterday called
    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...rump-supporters.559887/page-4#post-1070855419

In that post I said I was asked by a liberal friend if I was going to the local Klan rally and posters here assumed I went. That's it.

Well, The Blaze linked the original story to The Hollywood Reporter which said "'Did anyone see what our ratfucker-in-chief just did?' one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: 'At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.' In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire. The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum's Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals." THR is sure making it LOOK like there's some political stuff there.

For the record, The Hollywood Reporter is Left-Center, as you can see HERE. It certainly seems like a source many on the left should trust.

I doubt I'd see it in any event, Moonglow mentioned that the plot has been recycled many times. Heck, there was even a variation of it used on an episode of Gilligan's Island.

You just KNOW one of those kids is gonna come on here with "The Blaze?" followed by an emoticon, maybe a so what who cares, possibly a false-flag report or just bashing Trump in general - so yeah, I know what you mean.

That's a fun movie, good fun to root for Mason all the way through and it's great when he triumphs.

But while I don't know how it is now, long ago literature professors said that kind of a plot is not literature, and all such works with such primal plots are roughly based upon "The Eye of the Tiger" by Wilbur Smith.

I suppose it's a genre now which has jettisoned its origins.

It used to didn't have racism in it, but it is probably primarily racism now, if ya know what I mean.

    You saw the movie, then.

Class against class is a political struggle, in any case. How many times have I read that educated whites voted for Hillary and blue collar deplorables voted for Trump?

"The Hunt stars Betty Gilpin from GLOW and Hilary Swank, representing opposite sides of the political divide. It features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey. The script from Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter revolves around third-rail political themes. (Original title: Red State Vs. Blue State.)"

The whole rich-people-hunting-people trope is hardly new. And even if it were about liberals hunting Trump supporters (I don't know how anyone got that from the trailer, but whatever) . . . in that case the Trump supporters would be the protagonists of the film. The "liberals" are the villains.

There was already a movie about that. I don't recall many people being up in arms about it.

Yet we've only had one person on the thread talk about nullifying free expression . . . and he doesn't appear to be a Democrat.

Gotta love the denial. People comparing it to the purge or van damme's Hard target movie
    This isn't the same
This is encouraging murder of a specific political party
With that being said, I still think ads should be allowed for it...free speech over personal beliefs
Now stop lying and twisting..it is not the same as those other movies
Grow a set and call ot what it is

Well then whoever is needs to learn you can't have it both ways..can't complain about one side censoring free speech and then doing the opposite when it doesn't suit your views

Except the murderers are the antagonists. Those are the bad guys. Saying that this film encourages murder is like saying Die Hard encourages terrorism. Does this really need explaining? And so far there are no confirmed references to political party. Yes, it looks pretty much just like the Purge.

Unfortunately, this kind of disconnect has become the right's MO. Might have something to do with the current leader and his hatred of free speech.

Hollywood likes to recycle with a more political agenda... it's totally sick, but that's what they are.

First, even your article includes a quote from somebody saying this movie is satire, which means it's lost on the deplorables

Second, I've seen this movie before, and likely better done, in the past.

Finally, this shows the truly pitiful state of the motion picture industry these days... Everything is either a sequel or a superhero movie. I took my 17 year old to see Tarantino's Hollywood movie yesterday (FYI, today is actually the 50th anniversary of the Tate murders) and while I don't really think it's anything super special, it's at least different, which will do for now.... He has some very memorable scenes (the long scene with Brad Pitt at the ranch is by far the best in the movie) along with some real head scratchers (pretty much everything else, especially the ending)...

I find the whole Trump raising the flag/dog whistle nonsense, satire as well.

Cute, but my side are libertarians. I haven't heard any of them blame Trump's speech for shootings. What are you even talking about? What "same thing"?
