Not too much of a shock that tennis skill and medical knowledge aren't perfectly correlated, but I guess you're free to talk to tennis pros when you need medical advice if they're willing.

Really you're embarrassing yourself here. The vaccines failed and everyone who caught COVID afterward was gaslit into being "thankful" that they were sick but less sick than they imagined they'd be after fear mongering.

Not just recognize it, do something about it which again it failed to do. Vaccinated people were found to carry just as much of a virus load as the unvaccinated. The vaccine mandates fell because the vaccine didn't do anything. It provided no societal benefit.

I'll take his advice over yours any day of the week.

Your handle and the topic are the height of irony.

only one embarrassing himself here is you.... but carry on

Vaccines do not fight the virus, all they do is try to train your immune system to fight it better when you do get it - it's up to your body to take it from there

You ought to speak with medical professionals for medical advice, not tennis professionals. Sure my handle promotes living freely, but other people have freedom and rights too. Refusing to take steps to not infect them with a potentially deadly disease warrants being restricted from being around them. Freedoms don't mean anything if you're dead because somebody else was allowed to behave irresponsibly without restrictions. Do you get upset when drunk drivers lose their licenses too? Is that anti-freedom, or a reasonable restriction to protect the rights of others? If it's the latter, then you should understand that my handle is not ironic. Though for covid I guess it is more about how you have been duped by conspiracy theories.

Medical professionals have very limited expertise in one area. They do not understand risk assessment. They do not design vaccines. They are not expertise on contagious diseases.

This is what is funny to me when talking to people like yourself. Some can be an expert in one area and be a complete idiot in most other areas in life. I've met plenty of fat, chain smoking doctors. A close friend of mine who is a doctor routinely gets yelled at by me for driving like a complete ******* often in triple digits.

Guess what being a medical professional makes you.... an expert at one very narrow slice of knowledge.

As a person with an advanced degree and as someone who has a range of hobbies and understandings I calculated the risk for myself with regard to COVID. At that time I was 50, in fine health with no comorbidities. The math said I was more likely to die from driving to work than from COVID.

Now to address your long winded rant does that mean that when I turn the key in my car I am automatically "behaving irresponsibly and without restrictions". No but none of us get off this rock alive. Everything has risk and reward.

The risk and reward for the vaccines was simply wrong. People are left arguing that their morbidly obese 85 year old grandmother lived two months longer than they would have without it. That's just hot garbage and plenty of people made huge piles of money along with up to 10% of all COVID relief being declared to have been simply stolen and lost due to fraud. So you've got lots of people for lots of reasons content to lie.

Well yes there's a reason we have public health professionals who craft guidelines that general physicians follow. There is a standard of care to follow based upon the best evidence available. Some are experts in contagious disease, but they are available for consultation mostly in an inpatient setting.

I am not sure what you think you know about me.

That's not a matter of knowledge. Nearly all know better. It's a matter of discipline.

Their ability to care for patients relies upon them knowing when to consult a higher expert. They trust the experts. You don't.

Probably, but if you think that means it was inadvisable to get the vaccine back during the pandemic, then you don't understand the vaccine or statistics or both.

It wasn't. The details are getting hazy, but it was like 100 times riskier to not get the vaccine than to get it even for an average 20 year old male, and benefit increased with age and comorbidities, though for a young person the risks either way were very small. It's not months lost for not getting the vaccine and being the 1-2% to die, but rather years lost, even for most older patients. It's not just people on death's door who died of covid. Somebody who is 70 could easily live another 15 years, but had a significant chance of dying of covid by age alone. Now, with omicron, the odds of dying are down significantly, and there are other tools as well such as paxlovid.

The vax doesn't do that well at all . .. Catching the virus trains the body to recognize the Virus.

A very strange thing to say .. strange way to put things.

Public Health Professionals who lied their faces off in this particular case .. making an abomination out of the guildelines general physicians follow.

This is a fact that many people have a horrible time coming to grips with .. and thus this info often promotes a visceral reaction.

yes, the vaccine trains your immune system to fight the virus if\when you do get it

the vaccine does not act like a condom that repels the virus

could a variant mutate that the vaccine no longer covers... sure... but that would not be a failure of the vaccine

could your immune system be compromised and the virus still win, sure ... but that would not be a failure of the vaccine

I think anti-vaxxers already know all this, but pretend not to at this stage

Please spare me the pretending to have an understanding of this subject beyond what you kind of remember .. or thought you heard on CNN.

The vax turned out to be horrible at giving you that kind of Training... so why are you talking about it .. in a conversation about areas where the vax was excellent ?

Already told you .. Was horribly ineffective at preventing Transmission. Which is how the training is measured in the first sence. Do you not remember .. this should be basic to you ... no upper level education required .. the vaccines that when you took it -- you didn't get Polio .. or upon exposure to the disease Chicken Pox .. Granted you long term immunity.. just like the Polio vax.

This mRNA "Treatment" .. can not legitimately be called a Vax on this basis .. failing this test. They are changing the definition by continuing to call it a Vax... which is disterbing ..

So horrible at preventing you from getting the disease. How about decreasing your risk of harm ? when you do get the disease.. how about that Fresh Air .. maybe the Vax was "Extremely Effective" at doing that .. maybee .. Hopey .. and a prayer.

did you want to take a crack at that angle ?

Did you even google this? It is Herpes Zoster the same virus that causes chicken pox and shingles. You know - something we now have a vaccine for?

    Nope.
In fact, "sterilizing immunity" is a golden meatball that only a very few vaccines ever achieve.
Latest examples were actually AIDS drugs that promise U=U ---- "Undetectable = Untransmittable" and not only was it a longshot for the two major mRNA COVID shots, continued antivaxxer misconduct blew any remaining chance because that HELPED the virus mutate faster and better.

Sterilizing immunity was hoped for and hinted at but never ever promised.
Pfizer and Moderna mRNA shots dramatically reduced disease severity and "slowed" community transmission. PERIOD.

it wasnt a vaccine, in fact it did just the opposite, the more jabs the weaker the immune system got. I posted the mortality charts

mortality proved that every jab weakened the immune system more each time. more vaxed died than the unvaxed ages 18-40 britain.

Good science is supposed to be falsifiable. When people make claims like if you get immunized, you won't catch COVID, you can take your mask off and you won't carry a viral load so grandma is safe and it FAILS all those tests, then the bullshit they sell you afterwards about some other claimed benefits is for clueless and unscientific to believe. I guess it makes them feel better that they got four shots in their arms and who really knows what they will do long term.

What they won't do short term is actually anything related to prevention of COVID.

Also the non-sterilizing vaccines helped drive mutations. The "vaccine" pressured mutation. Science tells us this along with the most basic reasoning.

it means the anti-vaxxers can spread what ever lies they want now... most people are vaccinated, and the rest have been naturally exposed to the virus

Yes, but many didn't really NEED the vaccine. Guys like Djokovic for example.

some may have fought it off without the vaccine, true, that is also true of all viruses

the vaccine just improves the odds

some probably would have welcomed that

police officers were offered the vaccine in January... he refused, said he had an immune system

LOL, it sounds like this post was written by somebody in the PR department at Pfizer or Moderna.
