    I know because the woman who interviewed me for the job had the honesty & decency to close her office door & tell me in confidence that they were required to hire a minority for the position.
    Actually, it was a blessing to find the joys of self employment doing several different things until I started as a blacksmith / artist 25 years ago

    If you can't see the difference between a free cup of coffee (from a company already under assault in the media) versus a free $75,000 automobile, then you're too stupid to breathe.

    We've gone from "No Coloreds Allowed" to "Free Coffee for Blacks"
    The pendulum never seems to stop halfway

    uh, I've been asked to leave places before, including a situation which I thought was pretty darn unfair. Apparently they didn't get the "white privilege" memo about how I am supposed to be allowed to loiter.....

    And when I was asked to leave, I did so - because I am smart enough to know what the next step is.

    its not her coffee to give. So if the guy wanted free coffee for being black and they gave it to him...then they are factually racists. No ifs ands or buts.

    Na, back then black men and women wanted equal treatment and freedom of opportunity. Not to be judged on the color of their skin but the content of their character. A truly noble cause.

    I really feel they would be disguised at how their fight devolved into entitlement and harrasment.

    if I worked there I would give it to him too, the last guy that treated black people the same as white people was fired - must be nice to have black privilege

    At this point it is clear you are not interested in intelligent debate and are just being belligerent. I mean, no one could be so stupid as to need to have explained to them how the people who work behind the counter at fast food restaurants don't own the products they are disbursing.

    What is black privilege, being beaten or shot for a traffic violation, being shot in your grandparents backyard. Getting 20yrs for a crime when someone white gets probation for the offense.

    In the video she mentions this as being her "last day here" so it would seem there would be no reason to fire someone who is leaving anyway. Perhaps the fact that it was her last day emboldened her behavior.

    If we try and speculate whether or not she would have been fired had it not been her last day, my guess would be that Starbucks is so terrified of more bad publicity right now that her manager probably would have reprimanded her and potentially docked her pay but not fired her since that would serve to exacerbate things.

    Source for that claim? In the video, all the white people I saw had drinks at their tables and I haven't seen any reports to the contrary.
