Have you read the OP? There has been an investigation, probably by the Inspector General. The killer was exonerated...based on lies.

Here is a bit of inside oil. There are in fact 55 similar incidents (involving Australians) which are known about, including one where a Victoria Cross winner was active.

This is just the tip of the ice-berg and it will not end just with that TV programme. Right now, there will be many at high levels in the ADF wishing they could disappear. There will be huge ramifications.

I'll bet one response will be (by those who need to cover their back-sides) Australian Federal Police raids on the reporter's house and the media outlet, the Australian Broadcasting Commission (Government owned.)

The whistleblower should get a VC for exposing this crap.

 

It matters depending on the mission parameters. I don't know all the details, neither do you...

 

I can guarantee you that 'mission parameters' would never include murdering an unarmed person who did not pose an immediate threat.

 

None of us know the complete facts. However, having looked at the disturbing video in the provided link it seems very likely that multiple war crimes and took place. Watching the Australian SAS in action, I can see why many Afghans would want to support the Taliban.

I find it difficult to understand why the US became mired in Afghanistan after the Bush regime allowed Bin Laden to leave the country (ref. link below). It is even more astonishing that Australia is involved.

The writer of the story uses many liberties in his writting to portray the story in light.

He makes assumptions about the event he couldn't possibly know. I watched the video and i could not tell what was going on except a guy laying in the grass.

It certainly looks as though Soldier C murdered that guy, with so much info missing it's hard to say.

It would be tougher to defend my position if the video were not edited however. Just sayin'.

If you are going to cry every time a Soldier kills an enemy then you should keep your butt out of foreign countries. Would you have liked it better if the enemy had killed your Soldier? The only people who should be sent into cobalt are bleeding hearts, because they would fight a perfect war.
