    Oh god, please tell me a highly educated and intellectual elite leftist told you that. Please. And then tell me who it was, because that person would be an even bigger idiot than Cortez and needs to be called out.

    Cortez is a bumbling idiot and the most likely reason she gets so much air time is because all the networks want to be the first to capture and air her insanity. Remember, the reason why unemployment is so low is because everyone has two jobs. Remember #2, Trump is putting our national security at risk, but having open borders won't. That's her logic if not her exact words.

    And to think people actually give her credibility. It's insane.

    Could it be that any drugs given might be inoculations? I'm not sure if the CA triangle has much of a inoculation program for the lower class. Heck, here is the US, some people want to jail parents if they don't get their kids inoculated.

    Or maybe penicillin? I would imagine that after such a long trip, there would certainly be some children with infections.

    Maybe we shouldn't be medically treating these children so as to insure we will not be accused of "injecting them with drugs".

    In regards to "cages"...yeah, that is what "detainment" is. I'm sure these children had worse conditions for sleeping and eating while they were on the road....or worse yet, in the country they came from. I hear the country they are running from is a horrible place to live.

    It always amuses me there are people who think we can pour gigatons of crap into the air and oceans every year with no ill effect.

    It's the same crowd who thought smoking wasn't bad for you, leaded gasoline was great, radium wasn't making workers disintegrate from the inside out, it wasn't tiny little germs making us sick (it was bad air), the sun is the center of the solar system...conservatives, in other words.

    She was soft-pedaling it. Global warming is an existential crisis. It dwarfs everything else. It's the first time the entire species has been in danger (although there's a theory we almost were wiped out about 100,000 years ago). It's like a huge asteroid we know is going to hit us, and we're not doing anything about it. We're actually making the problem worse.

    We blew it as a species. We're not going to be able to stop it. The only thing to do is hope some technological miracle comes along. I bet in the end we end up doing something crazy, like pouring sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere to mimic a volcanic explosion.
