Another capacity crowd in Milwaukee last night with a fairly large overflow crowd outside with temperatures in the low teens. I wonder if there is a President in U.S. history that could consistently pull crowds like that again and again and again in year four of their Administration?

Yes, today, to distract from the Senate trial of his impeachment, Trump had huge ceremony regarding the signing of Phase One of the long, disastrous trade war with China. Phase One accomplishes little or nothing. Essentially, because of its failure, Trump was back peddling on his trade war. It has become politically hazardous. He had to provide billions of welfare to farmers hurt by his trade war. Generally speaking, farmers helped voting Trump into office.

Supposedly, according to Trump, this is the beginning of the end of the trade war with China. A trade war that caused the Dow to tread water for 21 months, from January 2018 to September 2019. Because traders knew Trump's trade war was being marginalized, the Dow is now setting records. However, the signing of Phase One caused the Dow to jump a ho-hum 90 points today, a routine day despite Trump's elaborate ceremony.

The agreement forces China to buy $200 billion worth of specific products within two years. That is the amount of products China would have bought in 2018 and 2019 without Trump's trade war.

China rejected demands that the text include promises to refrain from hacking American companies, insisting it was not a trade issue. The deal does little to resolve China’s pattern of subsidizing and supporting crucial industries that compete with American companies, like solar energy and steel. American businesses blame those economic practices for allowing cheap Chinese goods to flood the United States.

The deal does not have the blessing of China's president. Xi Jinping's name is not on the deal, and he has refused to meet with Trump.

The Articles of Impeachment were delivered to the Senate today.

Now his fans can go back to their cartoons.

But I am seeing more and more people finally admit the Democrats are full of pretty much nothing other than slogans and propaganda, and the substance is on our side. More liberty, better healthcare, more opportunity, more prosperity, more vision for a better America.

 

Hitler drew huge crowds, too. So did Stalin. Vladimir Putin draws enormous crowds.

Crowd size is not a measure of competence, sincerity, or compatibility with the Democratic process.

Bob Hope drew huge crowds, too. He was a great comedian who put on a tremendous show. He was concerned about providing good jokes, not providing the truth, not unlike Trump.

Ask yourself a question. Who is funnier, Donald Trump or Joe Biden? See what I mean?
