I recently watched a short video about how we are no longer a white christian nation and how it is harder and harder for republicans to win presidential elections. We used to be 67% white Christian, how we are only 45%, and millennials are only 29%. Do you think white christians will become a minority? Do you think Republicans will start losing presidential elections or will they shift their party to appeal to more people? What about state and congressional elections that Republicans have done a lot better at? The video was made before Trump won. What impact did his victory have on the arguments in the video?
My predictions? In no particular order 1. The Democrats will alienate -even more- of the white electorate by doubling down on calling them angry, ignorant, uneducated, deplorable, racist, etc. than they already have. 2. The female, black and Asian skews in favor of Democrats will degrade slightly and slowly over time, then in a more pronounced way, due to increasing entrepreneurship and higher tax paying among those groups. An aging population and lower birthrate among all racial groups will also add to this factor. 3. The government will continue to grow itself and its dependents via contracting, grants and jobs programs, destitute immigration, subsidizing illegitimacy and indoctrination of youth into quasi socialist politics, increasing Democrat votes. 4. Increasing insolvency in large blue cities will further entrench red areas and blue areas across the country into their respective voting patterns. 5. Migration of populations out of insolvent blue cities and into red areas will increase Democrat votes in such receiving areas due to migrants bringing leftist politics with them. As to which of these trends will win out? I can't make an overall educated prediction at this time.
Christianity has been fading in the United States for many decades as the population becomes more educated. Caucasian peoples also become diluted by immigration and interbreeding and this creates a rather inevitable minority over time. This has resulted in a fear and anger amongst the diminishing majority as it feels crowded out of it's once stable position of dominance, we see this in real time in the societal racial disputes and Christian persecution complex.
Oh good then it could a million years in the future. Even when I was a devout christian I realized the absurdity of the end of the world prophecy crap. I can tell you exactly when the world ends - when I die. And for you it ends when you die. The prophecy has no effect either way.
Just like the "God so loved the world that he gave his only son" nonsense. So what? He's god! He got him back. Plenty of mortal fathers lose their sons to war but they don't get them back.
That's a neat escape clause for the good 'ol high and mighty. When combined with it's "Mysterious Ways" pretty much ANYTHING can be explained away without ever needing to use rational thought. Hell...want flying Unicorn Dinosaur cowboys ....yeah, God made those too.
Christian America is dying because people don't buy into this nonsense any more. There is no logical basis for it. There is no evidence beyond hearsay written decades or hundreds of years later. The bible itself was assembled based on politics, with some books included, and others rejected based on their popularity. More and more religion comes into conflict with hard science and objective facts. The beliefs and traditions can often be traced back to practical issues thousands of years ago, or even pagan celebrations. Even most devout christians today don't take the bible literally. So what is and is not literal becomes completely subjective. Faith is based on a warm fuzzy feeling that is better explained by endorphins than spirit. And while billions of people all feel the spirit and the divine wisdom of God, none of them can agree on what that is. Many are will to die for God while fighting other people who are equally devoted and fighting for God. Yes, religion as we know it is a thing of the past. It is just a matter of time. I believe spirituality will persist and even increase as people look for new beliefs to replace those that are outdated and obviously flawed.
It sure is...and yet most of us still try to understand it. Some however think it is too hard and stop looking.
While being the minority, they have the electoral college, Senate elections, and House gerrymandering in their favor. They'll not lose any political power soon. Of course, they may win elections with less and less of the popular vote.
Of course, and who's fault is it ? THe white christians at the TOP. Those very people the dumb white christians are propping up today. Nothing has change except GREED at the top has been allow to run on. We stopped it in 1930s, worked well until 1986 and then let it break out again. Only this time with the support of LAWS that allow them to control it all. It really isnt about religion, as THEY want you to think, it is money...
So strange that we all got warned years ago about the greed, cutting the TAX on rich, yet, there are still dumb people that listen and preach what the uber rich tell them is best for them... While they take another 250$ a year away.... I think it actually works out to 1000.00 a year since 1986 from the working class guy, electrician, plumber, framer, factory worker in all... That is how much more money per year you would have had to make to keep up with the changes and things to be even today. That is itself is how much they take per year.... I made 20 an hour just back in 1998 and 20 hour at my last (temp. job) own a corp. thus get to work sometimes at a regular job for extra money... ALmost 20 years and a maintenance electrician still makes the same money... There is nothing one can do except prepare.... I dont think it matters how much you tell a dumb redneck that he is being lied too. If you get him worked up over racial issues, he will FOLLOW you to the GATES of HELL...
The key is being both white and Christians and only 62% are white now. Here is the percent Christians by year: 1980: 90% 2007: 78.4% 2014: 70.6% By now its probably below 70%.
This thread is another example of Democratic Party fixation on racial and racial, ethnic and religious segregation.
No, it is reality and our nation is transforming and to many this is a threat but democrats see it as a way to eventually become the dominant party.
Any idea exactly what time this is going to happen? I'd like to make some space on my calendar or DVR the Event.
