Just when we need a JFK, someone who will inspire and get America up again, we have this field of total clowns for 2016.

    Republicans:

Christie - Can't even get himself in shape or make sure his staff are not committing illegal or immoral acts
Cruz - a radical who has performed as a clown in a circus in recent years; was happy to shut down the government
Perry - Can't even talk or remember what he stands for on stage, comes cross as an idiot, just doesn't sound smart
Carsson - Nice soft spoken lad but clueless on many basic things, he should stick to neurosurgery
Jeb - nice guy but looks like a total tool, lacking energy and just looks like a big teddy bear. He just doesn't look strong enough or looks like he really wants this
Rubio - to me one of the worst possible presidents. He just seems to care about his image, his hair, his expressions and looking good; a man of little substance and a man with rather radical conservative stances on women's issues etc.. Surely he would be happy with not doing anything on immigration. His stance on Cuba is one of an idiot. The Cuban embargo has been one of the worst US policies in the sat 100 years, has done nothing but strengthen Castro's cause and destroy Cuba, yet, he being this Cuban extremist, he would be happy to prolong the agony.
Fiorina - smart lady but viciously fired from CEO position and just doesn't seem fit for president.. should stick to private sector
Rand - an angry man who takes radical positions...

and of course, Trump. All the above is why Trump is leading on the polls even though he has acted like a circus clown. His competitions is so weak, flawed and unfit to be president that i don't see how he can't win the nomination. This field is really weak... I actually like Trump, he appeals to the anti-Washington crowd and is a successful man who speaks without a filter, he is a good leader. The problem is, he just loses his cool an says stupid things sometimes.

    Democrats:

Hilary. Seems weak, frail and a bit angry. I don't think she did a great job as secretary of state and now she has this scandal going on, which is just embarrassing.

Sanders - Actually, probably the best of the whole bunch. This guy speaks the truth, wants to wage war on the Oligarchy that is US today, the biggest proponent for taxing the rich and helping the middle class. His views on healthcare, education and inequality are really really strong. When he speaks, he knows his stuff and is fearless, just speaks his mind. Very nice fellow with strong convictions. The problem is he is viewed as a socialist and will be tough for him to win, but i think this guy is great.

the rest are not even worth mentioning

Trump vs Sanders would be exciting and debates would be fantastic, two anti-establishment guys with very strong views which are very different. The rest are just typical politicians who just care about acting like politicians and cannot be trusted. They are all weak, flawed and unfit.

Obama would've eaten all of these guys alive and many are unhappy with Obama, this is how weak this field is...

Well I might disagree on some but I enjoyed reading your opinions on all. You say Sanders is "viewed" as a socialist. He has said he is a socialist. You are also a socialist if you like his positions and also want to "tax the rich". You say his views on "healthcare, education, and inequality" are really strong. This is not the reason the U.S became the greatest nation in the history of the world, and it was achieved in just a couple of centuries. The federal government has no business sticking their nose in our healthcare or our education. Those programs are best left to the states. Inequality you say -- there is no such thing as equality in any country in the world because all countries are run by humans and inhabited by humans.

The election field for 2016 on both sides can be summed up simply as.........PATHETIC. Really, this is the best America has to offer? We are doomed.

Take it a step further and ignore all candidates. No matter who runs or wins, do we really expect a different outcome in how things operate in the US? We just wash, rinse, repeat...complain, expect, disappoint.

The US is the leader of the free world but falling and faltering. In the past, the middle class participated in the economic booms and upturns, now the middle class is flat whilst the top 1% reaps all of the growth. This is an America where the top small % own most of the wealth whilst most americans see no improvement. All this worsened after Reagan and Bush tax reforms and cuts... It's unAmerican that 1 family can have more wealth than millions of Americans and that their effective tax rates may be even lower! not to mention corporations who find loopholes to pay no taxes. Sanders knows all the facts and what he lays out is irrefutable and hard to argue against. when top 1% owns more than bottom 60%, it's appalling... time to change so middle class also sees improvement. Trump even agrees with taxing the rich. Supply side DOESN'T WORK, it's been proven... It does worsen inequality. Sanders is a guy that will do the MOST for the middle class which is real America, the top 1% don't represent America...

on education, it should be more affordable for more Americans. America's education system is poor vs industrialized nations

healthcare, single payer is way to go... it's a no brainer. US was the only industrialized developed nation that didn't guarantee healthcare and actually discriminated against the most in need, (appalling, hideous). The US's costs are twice that of any developed nation, which shows how inefficient the system is. Also, it has never really been a 'free market system' as insurance companies haven't been allowed to compete across state lines. In short, America's ranking in overall healthcare is embarrassing... low amongst developed nations. Now granted, other countries have their problems (waiting lines etc..) BUT no system is perfect. Overall though, US ranks very low in healthcare to it's citizens but we are supposed to be world's superpower?

Sander's views on education, healthcare and support for middle class are compelling but you all have to try to be reasonable, not block your minds with anti government venom. Facts cannot be ignored and the facts are that we have a massive inequality problem where most of the wealth are in the hands of a small % and middle class (real america) needs help; we rank low on education amongst developed nations and rank low on healthcare as-well. THESE ARE FACTS. Obviously, no system is perfect so holes can be poked in any system but these are big problems and Sanders is the one with the best ideas, IMO. I'm not a socialist but i believe in healthcare for all, better education system and a stronger middle class. What's bad about that? I believe in smaller, better government but there are certain things government should do - ensure healthcare to all, ensure everyone has access to education and have a strong military. Many other things can be cut...

Sanders' ideas sound a lot like Castro's actions back in 1959. That worked great for Cuba. The gov seized all the industry, made education, doctors, and housing free. People with ambition risk their lives to flee. Those leaving left with only the clothes on their back leaving their property to the gov. Look at the lives of the Cubans today.

totally wrong, you need to read up on what he believes in. Don't lower yourself to ignorant status by comparing him to Castro. It would be like me comparing Trump to Hitler - a good speaker energizing and uplifting the spirits of a Country who seems to have lost it's way. This is how bad your comparison was. If Sanders is Castro, Trump is Hitler so we may have Castro vs Hitler as candidates. Keep the discussion on higher ground than this. You know that the points i made were very reasonable. If you believe inequality is fair today, education and healthcare have been great... you are in a dream world. If US is really the leader of the world, middle class (real America) should be much stronger and so should healthcare and education system.

Let's face it Trump and Sanders are the only two who are actually telling it like it is. Problem is neither of them can implement the things they want to because of the way it is.

And Sanders is a bit confused on how to make things better. Yes taxing the rich who didn't/wouldn't reinvest into the country did help after the great depression, but it also created a large number of millionaires in the 50-60's, who about brought the country economically to its knees by the late 70's.

Then the country was sold another scheme in the 80's, that promised to make things better. If we would only listen to the rich and allow them to manage the country the right way, all that wealth would trickle down and we would all be riding the wave of unbridled success, as the majority of the nation was before the crash that created the great depression, and again after WWII up into the 60's. So what happens 30 years later is a bunch of billionaires prospering while the majority of the country is feeling the consequences of their schemes that all but eliminated competition, wiped out the small businesses that saved their asses in the mid 80's from total financial ruin. All done because of shady back room deals made by the very people who promised to make the country viable again. Yes crony capitalism, the deregulating banking schemes and land grabs made possible by the over taxing and over-regulating of everybody else, too ill-equipped (politically speaking) or too small to have crony politicians on their payroll,

The American farmer was all but decimated, with banking loan schemes approved by the plutocracy and corporate agriculture took over an industry that kept the majority of American families working and together, going since the country's inception.

More banking schemes in the early days of 80's brought us corporate raiders and hostile takeovers that made the country that used to be the worlds most powerful and accomplished manufacturing mecca, and outsourcing of the few remaining corporate entities have continued to devastate the middle working class ever since. The free trade cons, with the help of the government cronies in the pockets of Corporate America all but placed a tombstone over the decaying body of the American worker from there. That would have surely brought us to the recession that later hit us hard in the late 2000's if not for the technology boom that temporarily pulled us out at the last hour.

Toss in the amnesty of the illegal aliens who were flooding the job markets in the 80's, to stop (wink) the flooding which failed miserably, as it was designed too, so miserably that they (both corporate owned parties) are working on a bigger better amnesty part II as we speak, that will only create the need for more illegal workers to fill the void of the new Americans who will no longer be doing the work Americans don't/can't do because they cannot survive on the slave labor wages offered even with the corporate welfare of subsidies uncle sugar provides so the mega corporations can continue to thrive.

And most of the bumbling morons running for the grand prize of White House inhabitant, will have you believe that all this economic turbulence only started when the first black man was elected president, that their useful idiots eat up like honey glazed BS.

    Yes we are doomed.

Its easy to "tell it like it is", when your chances of winning are zero. When one is concerned about actually winning however, one's words must be chosen much more carefully.

I don't think it has anything to do with being manipulated by rich/elitists, although that is a common battle cry from those that are frustrated with their lot in life. It is all about the demographics of winning the majority. Winning the majority is not about having the best ideas, it is about angering the least amount of people.

You shoulda seen Cuba before 1959. The lives of its citizens are immeasurably better now than in 1959. In every respect you can think of. Of course, if you are a fan of Fulgenia Batista and Meyer Lansky and think Cubans should have a choice between prostitution and chopping cane, you're probably right.

I was in Cuba a couple of times in 1958. I was in Key West when Castro seized control from Batista in 1959. Explain why no Cubans tried to escape Cuba on an inner tube during Batista but thousands have risk their lives to escape under Castro? I worked with a lady who gave up a family business built up under Batista but left under Castro. She was not allowed to bring money or any possessions with her. She saw Castro for what he was and wanted her freedom. If the Cuban lives are better now then maybe the folks on the inner tubes were just going for a swim.

Gee, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that he has identified as a socialist for years?

Cuba's economy in the 50's, was on par with the US economy, including having a chance to become something. Many Cuban's owned many things, farms to business. Today the rich, those still owning their 59 Chevy are the rich and the average Cuban pay is less than 30.00 US$, per month.

I don't know if I trust Trump with a pair of safety scissors, much less the presidency.

Why do people think they need to take such absurd leaps to criticize socialism? Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot did not try democratic socialism, which is Sanders' "style of socialism". Don't like? Well then go for one of several completely rational objections. No need to use highly exaggerated "logic" and compare people to mass murdering despots in order to make your point.

Escape to what, the USA? We would have returned them on the same inner tube. There have been several dozen Cuban baseball players who could have left Cuba for big pay in the USA. Some did leave, most did not. Same with the Cuban boxers.

I'm not saying that Castro did not dispossess thousands; just saying they deserved it because they supported Bautista. Most are hanging out in Miami waiting for the time they can be repossessed by dumbbell American meddling. Bautista was a murderous dictator (really just Lansky's own Murder, Inc.) When you were there, you probably missed the streets where Batista hanged hundreds and hundreds of Cubans from lamp posts.

Walker adores Ronald Reagan. That alone is enough for me to vote for him at this point.

Ronald Reagan was not a perfect president. He had flaws. Ronald Reagan today would not be a perfect candidate. He might have any greater flaws for this era.

That said I wish we had another Reagan or at least a reasonable facsimile there of right now.
