Why is current American music sucking so hard compared to that? That was entertaining.

I think both the death metal songs were Japanese, not Chinese.

Songs in a major key by nature are not "downer" songs.

Musical tones and scales are directly related to human emotion. Sad = minor keys.

Not at all. A lot of times when they want to get a boy band or girl group going they’ll do something like this. Just like Blink 182 was a punk Backstreet Boys.

 

I like it, too. The Japanese don't take their Metal too seriously and like to have fun with it, and the fun is infectious. Sure the acts, outfits and makeup are goofy but who cares? That's the whole point. Heavy Metal in the West has a tendency to be too negative, serious and often pretentious. It's refreshing to see something different for a change.

Another thing I've been impressed with are all the talented female guitarists in Japan who can flat-out throw down. I don't know what's in the strawberry ice cream over there but I'd like to see more of that back here in the States.
