    It can be difficult to find much meaning in many of the lyrics. They often give way to the rhythm of the music and word choice is replaced with word fit. A lot of the songs I like have lyrics that I consider garbage. And then there are those robo-songs created from the study of words that the public likes to hear. For the most part, I don't get too caught up in the lyrics. The voice and how it works with the music is more of my focus. It's like the jazz--open and free. It's like what Kerouac called "unspeakable visions of the individual." Do the music and lyrics work together to bring that out in me?

    No doubt about it. A veritable ****load of examples. "Mother Superior jumped the gun" means what exactly, for instance....

    Perhaps the greatest example of inane lyrics is Stairway - absolute ****ery.... And yet I never tire of the tune. It makes me a tool, no doubt about it.....

    This song is about the ship Esso Northumbria, a British oil tanker, at the time the largest ship built in Britain.

    It was involved in the Suez oil crisis in 1965. The Northumbria, built in the yard by Merseyside (The river Mersey) and Newcastle-upon-Tyne (The river Tyne).
