What is the end game?

Let's just presume that Trump is removed from office. What does the left gain? They will get Pence as president. How does that help them? Do they not see past the tree line? All these years trying to oust him for nothing. They could have just waited a year, put a reliable candidate up and sent him packing from the ballot box. Seems they just don't see past today and that this is a winning idea. On the surface I don't get it.

They don't either, obviously. This is what happens when reason and logic are displaced by hate and rage- in this case, immature hate and rage like children throwing tantrums. You can predict it. For example, when the impeachment plan fails, there will be a new plan right behind it. In the meantime, the dems have issued far more subpoenas than legislation- they are not doing their job of tending to the nations business, because they can't control themselves. They are actually Trump supporters, by making it clear than choosing them would be a really stupid thing to do- and they don't seem to realize it.

 

Your entire post is based on a false premise. Trump has not been impeached. If he is impeached, his removal in the Senate is nearly impossible as things stand now. There are serious doubts House Democrats will impeach if there isn't a huge majority of Americans who support it combined with Republican support.

An impeachment failure would be a waste of time, money, energy, and loss of support where Democrats are concerned. Impeachment failure is counter-productive. I believe the House leadership knows that.

This is just a hail Mary attempt to try and throw enough baggage at Trump to somehow win in 2020, and they know they have almost zero chance of that unless they can somehow get Trump supporters to decide not to turn out to vote.

It's politics, so the truth isn't important. What's important is getting Joe Six-pack to think that maybe the democratic nominee isn't as bad as Trump. Joe doesn't keep up with politics, and he's the vote they are hoping to get.
