I apologize for my rudeness. Fortunately most people here do not belong to the younger Social Media generation. Male, 50 yo, housekeeper.
Been there just over 6 months. 1948. Good vintage. As memory goes, you don't mind as much Really, short term memory and stamina drop like off a cliff. No chronic illness except residual asthma from childhood. Moi Don't further ize
A depression baby, 1934 How is it up there at 86. Which generation after you do you dislike the most? Boomers? X? Y or Z or millennials, etc. Moi STOP
I'm sixty one...... and I just ran into a fascinating lecture...... that puts an interesting slant on USA and world history......
Or, back in those days - a mistake. Yeah, never stopped to consider I'd be here this long but in a lot of ways it's sort-a neat. If you feel like being a jerk it's expected because, after all, he's an old fart. Seriously it's not bad at all. My only glitch is I have a mobility problem. I am only good for walking very short distances because of a back issue. The offset is I have a neat little electric trike that is a substitute for the motorcycles I rode for over 60 years. (See, you can take something bad and even turn that around.) X, Y etc. I'm not one who is hung up on "the good old days". Admittedly I haven't kept up with technology. I have a friend whose smart phone takes better pictures (at least as good) as my Nikon and that pisses me off but that's not her fault. I've got nothing against any of the youth. When you become an old fart you do hate to see young people screwing up their lives but sh-t happens.
Thank you, I thought it was Alzheimer's, ( and yes, I know it may still be). Thank god for the handheld memories.
Looks like there's a lot of old-timers like me on this forum. I prefer to think of myself as a 1953 model, vintage 1953. They're not making any of those anymore.
SO for the serious answer, I reached my half century mark this year. SO the first quarter of my life is over.
Alzheimer's has become a catch all for all old age cerebral changes. Their was no ADHD diagnosis when "we" were kids. But, I know an now adult one who I've known since he was 7. I told him as a kid that in his late teens, early 20's the demons of ADHD will me most controlled, then the come back. Reading has gotten more difficult for me and short term memory. One day, out of the blue he brought up that re remembered my comment on the demons, in his early 30's and said, "They're back". Bring Back Senility Just Say No To Alzheimer's
Yeah, nobody could tell us a damn thing either, guess every generation has to learn the stoves hot by getting a few blisters.
Thank you! This forum represents a much more tolerant America with traditional values. TikTok is full of extremely angry young people.
Baby Boomer Generation lived by the rules. At age 50 I am a part of generation of rebels. We never played by the rules, I never really cared My nasty reputation takes me everywhere Generation Z is happily accepting much more restrictive rules.
