For the sake of hypothetical discussion, let us assume the current issue regarding the united states census being updated with the question relating to citizenship is allowed to go through, over the objections of those who disagree with the question. Let us assume for the sake of hypothetical discussion the united state supreme court rules the update can be made, and the question is on the forms the next time they come out.

The question then becomes a matter of what occurs in the aftermath of this? More specifically, what comes about if those who are asked to partake in the census knowingly supply false information? What occurs if every illegal alien currently residing in the united states simply lies and claims they are citizens of the united states? What will come about then?

    I doubt much will happen.

There aren't enough census takers to track down everyone that didn't complete a form or bother filling it out let alone checking for lies in it.

I agree - I doubt anything can happen. If they had the resources to verify the citizenship question is answered accurately, they wouldn't even need to ask the question because they'd already know.

The 14th amendment may just require a citizenship question for voting in a General election. Part 2 of the 14th.

Show us how someone can register to vote, without being a US citizen, hell, motor vehicle runs background checks and has for years.

They provide background checks on driving records for employers. They don't do background checks to give out licenses. All you need are usually some combination of papers. In some states registration to vote is automatic with a drivers license. The are supposed to differentiate between citizens and non-citizens but that has not always worked.

California DMV admits that non-citizens are registered to vote
