They also like to pretend their host of rich folk are in some way different...or more amusing, do not exist.

Is it not more a case of group think...if 90% of any group all hold identical political views and are in the business of imparting their wisdom on others, is it surprising that those others will often simply regurgitate the political mouthings of their teachers.

Would academia 'studying issues' come to the same conclusions if they were not all Leftists to begin with?

Liberals are evil because they also do not want THEIR taxes to help welfare people, they want other folks money to do that.

    You nailed it, right here.

They are very insular people who rarely travel outside of their own like-minded circles for an outside opinion. They are happy to live in their liberal elite fantasy world, where they are the only intelligent people in the country, and everyone else is a NASCAR watching hick. That's the construct they have set up to sustain themselves.

    You are very correct, JIMV.

Especially when you say, "It is why idiots like Joe Biden could pass as an intellectual for all those years when he is demonstrably dumber than dirt."

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." -Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time!

Nope, that is YOUR straw man!! In fact, these days, it is your side and not ours which sees the rich as far more omnipotent and omniscient!!! Listen to the tea party and libertarians babble about the bildebergs, the fed, one-world government conspiracies, :blahblah: . That sort of gibberish IS NOT coming from the left for the most part, at least not at this forum it isn't.

What the left sees is people with the incentive and the resources with which to corrupt the political process. That this happens is a matter of fact and public record. You can go to the public record, and find all the campaign contributions given by the rich to members of government. You can find all the lucrative jobs given to members of government, after they have done a job regulating or legislating the company who eventually employs them. It is all very much out in the open, and is only allowed to continue because apologists like you pretend like it isn't happening, and that it is all just invented in the minds of crazy liberals. There is a enormous difference between recognizing this incontrovertible fact, and being a conspiracist who sees evil in every action corporations take.

REALLY good question. And i think it goes back to the topic perhaps posted here called, 6 or 7 Reasons why Liberals will never be reasonable or realistic or something like that.

Liberals are not this way because of what any Christian tells them. Indeed Christians want nothing to do with liberals. Liberals make your head hurt because it leaves the Christian wondering HOW in the world can people develop such strange ideas with what little cause they have.

A BIG part of the reason liberals are the way they are is that they get a load of Justification on a daily (hourly) basis from the media. THEREFORE, liberals think they are right. They don't have to think about it, they don't have to look or listen to other opinions, THEY are right and it is proven because the left wing media gives them their ideas in such a smug, arrogant way that liberals feel good about themselves.

That's one reason. NOT the only reason but a significant one.

Okay first off. People need to get off this idea that anarcho-libertarians have suddenly taken over the GOP. The Tea Party is merely the much needed grassroots watch dog who sits growling over the establishment Republicans who really run things, and ensure that the agenda inches forward against the most astounding and blatant gross propaganda campaign I have ever experienced in my years of political involvement.

So TAKE THE POWER BACK FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND GIVE IT BACK TO YOUR STATE AND HOLD IT CLOSE TO YOUR HEART AND NEVER LET IT GO AGAIN! THE SPIRIT OF FEDERALISM!

Look, the world has changed... the PC revolution which is every bit as profound and upending to society as the industrial revolution was is going to revert America back to a period more resembling the Victorian Age, which all the social problems that entails.

The poor won't be nearly as bad off however, as long as we make consumer electronic goods that improve all of our lives, as cheap as possible. That can only happen by reaching out globally for both our natural resources, and our labor. Capital is once again taking dominance over labor because technology gives them the advantage of doing so. The wealth gap will continue to widen because technology allows those with big ideas to export those ideas instantly around the world and get paid on global scales to do so.

Facebook was an idea sold to the world.

Google was an idea sold to the world.

With 6 billion possible consumers out there, how are a 310 million people supposed to reign THAT IN? YOU CAN'T.

The only choice is to attempt to go with the flow, educate our people to the highest standards possible in whatever brutal way we must and get our people THINKING ABOUT PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS INSTEAD OF POLITICAL THEORY.

WE NEED A COUNTRY OF STEVE JOBS, NOT ROSY THE RIVETERS!

Posts that start with "surely" and contain the word "fatuous" actually strengthen the point of the OP.

    Mistake #1:

Assuming that 'education' isn't simply 'brainwashing'.

    Mistake #2:

Correlating the cost of an education with the effectiveness of an education.

Robbed, you say? The poor can voluntarily keep their own money in their own pocket, and they can voluntarily determine that they will be disciplined and responsible.

The poor largely remain so due to lack of the ability to do any of the above. They rob themselves.

If this were true, Conservatives would not give more to charity than do Liberals.

Your attempt to manifest the opposite of the claim in the OP fails.

I must therefore assume that you are un(der)educated (or brainwashed, as you put it).

Perry's notion of a $10K four-year college degree is laughable. One year of private elementary school costs more than that (at least around here).

LOL.. your whole post is an example of what you rail against.. your just part of the "good"guy mindless mob right?.. Its all those "bad" guys fault over there. If it wasnt for them we would all be ok because then there would only be "us".

If you succeeded in eradicating your supposed enemies.. your handlers would split you down the middle and have half you drones fighting the other new evil guys in less than a year. When you realize that you will be free.. until then dont try to act like your different from the other sneetches.

Those who do obsess on those 'conspiracy' groups do not do so because those people/groups are rich; they do so because of the ideologies of those people/groups. Objections to their perceived actions has nothing to do with their wealth.

"The rich" give to both sides. Your answer is to punish the rich. Our answer is to make Government less able to acquiesce.

Our answer is better, and doesn't punish all those Americans who you don't care get caught in that "the Rich" net you love to cast.

You're clearly in denial of the loathing of big Government nearly every Conservative possesses through their bones.

By and large, Conservatives do not see evil in Corporate actions. That is the milieu of Liberals. Conservatives object to illegal activity, and lament that Government has grown so large as to be valuable to co-opt for Big Business, skewing the capitalist playing field.

    We want to shrink Government.

This thread is laughable. Partisans of both stripes insisting that the other guy is dumber than they are. Ignorance is nonpartisan (although it skews Right ).

Why would you assume that? It's a matter of where you were educated, and how.

I had the benefit of being aware of the liberal agenda prior to attending college. Those who enter their college life with no preconception of an agenda can fall victim to its inculcation. I did not...and it helps that I attended a largely Conservative (but not entirely) school.

That you seem to assign value to education merely because it is expensive is your shortcoming; not mine.

    Subdermal's Daily Irony Post™ nominee #2.

You'll note that I didn't impugn any leftist's intelligence - but you impugned the intelligence of the Right.

    tsk; hypocrisy and irony.

I actually do not know that, but...why wouldn't church donations be considered charity? Most of my church collections fund community outreach.

So we can count taxes as charity as well, then, right?
