I have always conjectured that in 1,000 years, European History will revert back to WWII and the Third Reich as the deciding factor between whether Europe stayed European or became an annex of the Mideast or Africa.

The Third Reich was the only government in European history to embrace the concept of Pan-European identity. When scholars look back on Europe and ask what happened to Europe, and why it turned into a brown melting pot of Muslims and Africans, they need look no further than the death of European nationalism in the 1940s, and the start of the non-European takeover of European homelands.
