    BS

a Democrat vote brought this about. There is no sugar coating that, thus it is absolutely fair to ask every Democrat voter if they like what is happening?

I understand that is your fervent belief. You just can't explain why in a cogent way. You're simply looking for someone to blame and Biden/Dems is/are an easy, over simplified target. How about this, maybe you'd like to explain how Biden is responsible for record inflation in the UK?

How about Venezuela, or any other country.

If that makes you feel better about your Democrat vote; then so be it. This is the USA and it seems that Democrat voters do not want to see that energy prices shot up following the Democrat executive orders that crippled energy. Drive up the price of energy, it drives up all prices.

Democrat votes have consequences; never good

You have your facts wrong. Oil prices increased at the beginning of Biden's admin because the market recognized demand would increase as the economy re-opened following the lifting of COVID restrictions. Oil prices spiked when Putin began to amass troops on Ukraine's border and subsequently invaded. Please see the chart of WTI crude. https://www.cnbc.com/quotes/@CL.1

You need to go back to the drawing board.

That's a pretty good analysis, but it misses one important thing. Raising interest rates might help quell inflation, but it will also slow the economy which is already negative in 1Q22; one more negative quarter and we have an official recession. Looks like were headed for a Jimmy Carter stagflation which the fed and the economists do not fully understand. The point you are missing is that the fed and most if not all economists don't have much more than a clue as to what causes what and what's happening.

Hardly. My point is whenever Obama signed the fiscal budget, repubs whined we were at the brink of financial disaster. Then Trump added 8 trillion to that "brink of disaster" with no fight from the majority of republicans. Now that a Dem is president, we have again reached that "brink of disaster."

I was FORCED to participate in Social Security and would gladly have opted out to invest my own money. No I think it is up to me to provide a good retirement and I did and now Biden is doing everything to destroy it as I detailed.

ANYBODY can think they provided a good retirement for themselves -- when the market returns 10-12% per year, like clockwork. However, that's not realistic, and you should have known that. Now, you blame Biden for your own failure to plan for a downturn. One could only imagine what would have happened if you had also invested your SS payments into the stock market, which is something that the GOP has always lobbied for, i.e. to privatize SS. How many people would become destitute in retirement if the GOP would succeed with this plan, I don't even want to think about.

Like I said, the Fed is actively trying to slow the economy. Its belief being a hard landing (mild recession) is preferable to rampant inflation. My hope is the world's economies will eventually get a break in the form of one or more of the following: 1. China easing its lock down 2. Russia ending its war with Ukraine 3. supply chain bottlenecks beginning to clear 4. US inflation moderating so the Fed can be less aggressive with its rate hikes.

Donald took over a strong economy from the previous administration then added 8 trillion to the debt without his party noticing.

I did. That’s why I went to my local library and they told me how to spot a good or bad source. You know, if you don’t know something ask someone who would know how to solve the problem. Instead of say, personally attacking another poster? Ad Fontes rates it as an untrustworthy source, so I do the same. Anyone who relies on that source believes in untrustworthy material. Why would anyone want to go into business with someone who can’t spot a good or bad source? Come on! A kid can do it.
