Because part of the investigations into abortions in the 1950s and 60s INCLUDED FORCED vaginal inspections as part of the process. Given today's social media, ANY jilted boyfriend or angry rival can simply start an online rumor, claim some woman has had an abortion, and the woman may have to undergo a pelvic exam to prove she hasn't had an abortion. Any woman who has a miscarriage - and has an angry boyfriend is ripe for being abused in this manner.
Fetal Personhood has long been a feature of US laws. California Cal. Penal Code § 187 (a) defines murder as the unlawful killing of a human being or a fetus with malice aforethought. https://www.webmd.com › baby › features › does-caffeine-raise-risk-of-miscarriage Does Drinking Caffeine Increase Your Risk of Miscarriage? - WebMD A: The answer is FALSE -- with some caveats. For years, obstetricians thought that even moderate caffeine consumption increased the risk of miscarriage. In fact, one study released in early 2008 ... https://www.therecoveryvillage.com › meth-addiction › meth-babies-on-the-rise Meth Babies on the Rise: Long-Term Effects of Moms on Meth During Pregnancy Studies show that exposing a fetus to meth can cause DNA damage, mental and physical abnormalities and heart defects. Around 50% of babies born to women who used meth during pregnancy are delivered prematurely. This puts them at risk for underdeveloped systems, including their brain, heart, and kidneys. The smart call is to stay away from both. The problem that you note, that these penalties can stop those that need help from seeking it is certainly a valid concern. I don't have the answer.
1: The Guardian is rag. It even has articles about UFO's. That's how unreliable it is. 2: Note that no where in that link to NCBI does it say that the woman was charged for having an abortion or anything about a miscarriage. Try again.
I'm sure you can prove your statement. You mean like how women claim rape when rape didn't happen? Welcome to ******* world. But all of that aside....DON'T CARE. Killing other humans is wrong. And guess what, bodily autonomy does not prevent investigations into crimes. Don't believe me? Go ask anyone that has had a cavity search where cops have found drugs and even cell phones in peoples asses, and yes, even vagina's.
I get it. You want to ignore the common use of the phrase "keep her legs closed" for being so literal as to be inane.
I believe that you don't care. And you couldn't come up with a better gift to the idiot Democrats than have constant stories of forced vaginal inspections and forced deliveries in the news everyday. Every parent with a teen age girl is going to see that in their mind's eye when their daughters are late coming home.
We have history, not emotions, to go off of ... we tried to outlaw abortion once before, it was a legal failure. I suggest you read the wittings of the Justices involved in that original Roe v Wade decision.
Already have. In fact that is one reason I was once pro-choice. Then someone leaked Thomas's opinion draft. And all the pro-choicer's went nuts and made me realize that all the arguments used to support abortion was the same as the arguments that once supported slavery. Since I am against that type of thinking I am no longer pro-choice. Now I just care about scientific facts and that everyone gets treated equally under the law.
This progressive poster child loves abortions. Video: https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1541972382981554176
So you are saying that the arguments for slavery and abortion are the same? I don't remember pro-slavery people arguing that slaves were created INSIDE THE WOMB of slave owners, therefor they have ownership ... but whatever dude.
And INDIVIDUAL women can say no to sex if conditions aren't optimal. Or she can indulge anyone of the many alternatives to intercourse.
Regulating sex has never been a viable alternative. Hell, you guys freak out when someone asks you to wear a mask, and you honestly think people won't engage in sex ( a primal drive in humans) just because it offends your sensibilities? Good luck with that.
I'm going to assume that the underlined part is a mistake and that you just meant slaves. Because slavers definitely considered what was in the womb of a slave as property and did everything that they could to make sure that it was born in order to enhance their own slave force or sell "it" to other people. You might want to read up more on history then. Here's a good place to start: LINK: Birthing a Slave: Motherhood and Medicine in the Antebellum South | Journal of American History | Oxford Academic (oup.com)
Don't need to regulate sex. Just hold people accountable for their actions. Including having sex when they know that having sex could result in a pregnancy. (and yes, that includes men to...oh wait, they're already held accountable)
And NORMAL adults don't shag spastically every time the urge takes them. We may be primates, but our management of that side of our animal nature is far more aligned to the prey species. We 'manage' our fertility ... basically to avoid starvation.
Her three minutes of sex was more important than the survival of her family? What are you suggesting?
On the contrary, we have that many BECAUSE we manage our fertility. If we didn't, there'd be 14 billion .. perhaps more. And here's the shocker .. much of that fertility management was done prior to the advent of modern contraceptives. Female mammals always control their fecundity.
