A concept of communism of old China. But it makes for easy learning to Americans, simple minds can easly grasp simple lables without knowing or caring about the difference.

 

They both have China in their name, but they are not both ruled by the current Chinese Government. The ROC was the Government that was in control of China, but was ousted in 1949 (I believe) during China's civil war. Not only will PROC NOT recognize ROC, but they will not recognize any country that supports legitimacy to ROC.

They are not the same entity and Taiwan is NOT governed by China. It is a sovereign nation with it's own Government.

ROC does claim ALL of China as being their country, but lacks the strength to expel the current government.....and the PROC also claims all of China AND Taiwan. That is what the whole politic mess is all about. Even though both entities have the word "China" in their name, they are separate Governments....kind of like the "North" and the "South" of the US Civil War, however, while the "South" was disbanded after the Civil War, the ROC was not.

 

But the south in the American Civil War was still part of America wasn't it?

Canada is part of America as well, but it is not part of the US.

If you are talking regionally, I guess that argument could be made, but if you are talking about Governmental rule, then NO. The Country of China (current Government = PROC) has no jurisdiction in Taiwan (ROC). Just as the US has no jurisdiction in Canada even though they are both part of America.

 

Canada is part of the North American continent but America and Canada have never been one country like the PROC and the ROC are.

 

Dude, PROC and ROC are not the same country! It could be said they were at one time, but after the China civil war in 1949, they became two different entities....with the PROC taking over the mainland and ROC taking over Taiwan.

You are either trolling, are intentionality obtuse, or are completely ignorant of basic Chinese history. If it is #3, then I suggest you actually read the links I provided if you are willing to learn something new. If it is #1 or #2, then I can't help you and we are just wasting time.

Bottom line is that Mainland China (PROC) does NOT rule Taiwan (ROC)...they want to, but do not at this time. Just because they both have the word "China" in their name does not mean they are the same and/or equal.

currenlty all level of taiwan political & military are infiltrate by spies from mainland. one of the reason we delay the selling of advance weapon to taiwan. mainland china can easily steal US advance weapon technology from taiwan if we ever sell taiwan any good weapon system.
