Who was the worst killer in U.S. history? Which private U.S. citizen committed the most murders? Some possibilities: 1) Harry Strauss - contract killer for Murder, Inc. 2) Steven Massof - He worked at Kermit Gosnell’s notorious abortion mill. Massof testified that he snipped the spines of more than 100 moving, breathing babies outside their mothers' wombs. 3) Charles Cullen – nurse who killed patients Two were paid to do their killing (Strauss and Massof). Two were medical professionals (Massof and Cullen). All three did their murdering on the job. I think Massof, who was possessed by a ghoulish fascination with abortion, is the worst. Massof’s high numbers are not in doubt. And what’s more horrible than killing an innocent baby with their entire life in front of them?
Here's some more medical professionals: Donald Harvey Top doctor's chilling claim: The NHS kills off 130,000 elderly patients every year
Harry Strauss worked for Murder, Inc. led by Louis "Lepke" Buchalter: He ended up in the electric chair in Sing Sing.
The abortion industry deserves considerable blame for the savage inhumanity discovered at abortion mills like Kermit Gosnell's notorious butcher shop. Why Big Abortion shares Gosnell’s guilt Unregulated abortion clinics endanger women everywhere Back-Alley Abortion Never Ended The Kermit Gosnell murder trial challenges a traditional defense of Roe v. Wade. Report: Planned Parenthood covered up Kermit Gosnell complaints The truth about late-term abortion Are the legal activities of New York abortion clinics really any less horrifying than those of Kermit Gosnell?

Lincoln is sometimes considered the best president depite the fact that he killed far more Americans than any other president! Lincoln was a racist who fought the war to preserve the Union - an ignoble cause. Without Lincoln's invasion of the South there would have been no war with its bloody battles, prisoner of war camps, and Lincoln's cruel blockade which cost so many lives.
If Lincoln didn't start the Civil War, then who knows how long it would have taken for the slaves to be freed. If it wasn't for the horrible practice of slavery, the South never would have seceded.
you mean his killing hundreds of civilians with drones and putting any american troops in harms way is worse than Bush getting into two totally unnecessary wars, killing ten thousand american soldiers, maiming tens of thousands more, while manageing to kill tens of thousands of civilians in the process? gotta say the OP is a - fail, big fail, huge fail, spectacular fail.
When did I mention Bush? lol You don't seem to realize that Obama's unnecessary massive escalation of the Afghanistan war produced quite a few casualties. 73% US deaths in 12-year Afghan war occurred under Obama
I see your point, but I think chattel slavery was clearly on the way out. Slavery was abolished in many countries about this time without massive bloodshed.
It wasn't on the way out in the south. The entire southern political and economic power structure believed slavery to be a foundational economic necessity. Wasn't the only reason for the civil war, but a big one.
In the OP I focused on private citizens who did their own killing. But people also seem to like discussing politicians who order deaths from afar.
This was true of many societies that abolished slavery. I think chattel slavery was just too expensive - slave owners had to house, feed, control the slaves. Wage slavery in factories was cheaper and more productive. There was no way that chattel slavery could work in an urban environment - large concentrations of (somewhat) educated workers are just not going to accept chains. I agree, not the only reason.
