American culture is a hodgepodge of many different cultures. We are more than just corney hotdogs, hamburgers, and baseball as our culture. Yes, things have changed since WW2, especially attitudes towards certain groups of people, like German Americans and especially Japanese Americans, not to mention Blacks. Second, each state has its own unique subculture. Texas has a culture that is different than any other state for instance, but this can be applied to every state in the Union, as well as our territories. But we are a country. Our country is based on one thing, the value of what we believe is important.

Not anymore because Trump and Congress got rid of that rule in 2017.

DeSantis proved much hope as an alternative to Trump after his landslide win in the 2022 midterms. Then DeSantis blew it by trying to out Trump, Trump. Why would anyone want a Trump 2.0 when you could have the real Trump?

Meatball Ron's DEFINING moment on stage was when he LOOKED AROUND to see who else RAISED their HAND for the Traitor-in-Chief.

Nothing says that you are man of your convictions like that does.

But religious organizations, or its leaders can endorse political candidates, can discuss political issues, and so forth in influencing its members. Some churches, like Greg Locke, have specifically said if you are a democrat, then you should not be in this church. Now, what cannot happen is tax exempt organizations cannot be a part of political campaigns or intervene in political campaigns. But intervention is not the same as talking, which per the 2017 law, is a matter of Free Speech per the conservatives. In addition, even if a church did violate the law, there is no will by the IRS to investigate or even remove the tax exemption per the 2013 issue by the very same GOP.

I agree. Trump is sailing along with 55% of the republican primary vote. DeSantis, his nearest competitor is at 14% and falling. Everyone else in single digits. I doubt even having Trump sitting in a court room as the defendant in these 4 cases will persuade his avid and devoted followers to abandon him. A total waste in my book. The Braves/Mets game had more meaning to me as to the division title even if the Braves are up by 13.5 games with 36 to play.

They have a right to free speech just like everyone else, just not in church.

The start will be to secure our southern border. Of all the candidates, DeSantis came across as the strongest for securing the border. That will stop the illegals, criminals, and drugs. Based on DeSantis' record in Florida he is the man to do this.

That applies even moreso to Ramaswarmy. Though he is likely running for VP pick by Trump, and he won't get it because Trump won't pick somebody trying to outshine him. Trump picked zero personality Pence for a reason and will do similar again (presuming he is the nominee).

You mean meatball Ron's "record in FLORIDA " where he "stopped" the "illegals" by flying them from TEXAS to New England where they were provided with meals, beds, clothes, healthcare and assistance obtaining asylum?

    LOL!

This also presumes that the GOP will ALLOW the Traitor-in-Chief to choose his running mate.

Given the 14th and 25th Amendments I have little doubt that Bitch McTurtle is going to INSIST upon the "candidate quality" of the VP at the Convention. It MUST be someone that the Old Guard approves of given the VP nominee will be the one who actually ends up in the Oval office while the other sweats out his time in a GA penitentiary.

He is a populist, and populists have to know what's popular before taking a stance. That's why he looked around before taking a stance.

More and more I am convinced that republican voters are not really interested in policy, so they wouldn't notice that policies were not discussed. The entire party seems to be short on policy and long on outrage. And that's what I saw last night. He/she who became loudest and angriest won the night.

No, a secure southern border is a bandaid at best.

The border wall can be gone over, under, around, and smuggled through. Just like today.

We have 2 oceans, a gulf and a northern border all open.

Trump was turned down by 3 or 4 more prominent republicans back in 2016 before settling on Pence. I was surprised Pence accepted.
