What makes Antifa so dangerous is that they have an outlet for their hatred and totalitarian aspirations while simultaneously draping themselves in righteousness. They don’t have to see their hatred and desire for totalitarian rule because they rationalize it with “I am a good person.” It’s in their name. Antifascist. A dangerous combination. People wonder how Hitler could sleep at night. That’s how. He was doing the right thing as far as he was concerned. Socialists don’t love the poor, they just hate the rich.
I don't find ANTIFA particularly dangerous other than to the Democratic Party's election prospects. In not poking fun at them along with everyone else in the country, coddling them instead, Democrats have tipped their hands, shown way too much of the "man behind the curtain," and it ain't pretty. They have the raw numbers, so can always pull it out by refocusing on straightforward middle class policy for all citizens, and setting aside the identity politics. But they are showing no indication whatsoever of waking up. You don't win U.S. elections by enabling or coddling bands of spoiled, middle and upper class masked malcontents who run around snapping bicycle locks at people. You don't win by soft-shoeing and virtue signaling a wave of serious sexual abuse allegations within your donor class either. Recently, the DNC was circulating ads for IT personnel emphasizing "diversity" and that white cis gendered males should not apply? Clearly they aren't going to be happy until they have lost the entire white centrist vote. But sure, equating tens of millions of political opposition to the piddly few white supremacists in the country is going to set them back on course. The Russians couldn't possibly do a better job of delegitimizing Democrats than they are doing to themselves and compounding daily. The GOP is weak too, just not as stupid, and there has never been a more likely time for a successful third party in my lifetime.
