I personally keep mine locked up as I personally have no need to have guns laying around the house. But that's my personal preference...to each his own.

It needs to be on the books because it is a deadly weapon. The law needs to say, the firearm is equal to an arm of the owner and anything that happens with the gun is the responsibility of the gun owner.

    Exactly.

I have a safe for when I’m traveling, that’s where they live when I’m not home.

No they don’t. My pencil is a deadly weapon.

The responsibility lies with the person who committed the crime. I could break into your house and steal the laces from your shoes and garrote someone, should you be criminally liable?

The perpose of a gun is to kill or shoot something or someone. As such when you decide to take that responsibility you should be held liable for any action done with the gun. The person using it gets a charge and the owner gets a charge.

It's the only way to force responsibility.

If your car is stolen and used to plow down people should you be held responsible for not safely securing your car from theft?

Maybe if you left your keys in the car and door unlocked but no in most cases due to a car not being designed as a weapon

So do you want the gun banner DGU numbers or the gun rights DGU numbers?

You have taken time to comment and then decide not to make a coherent answer. I have no idea of what you are saying. Try again.

no it isn't. the purpose for a gun is whatever I want to do with it. the weapon is locked in my house, there is no other lock needed.

Pardon, I assumed you knew what you were talking about on this issue and so would recognize the terms.

DGU stands for Defensive Gun Use.

Would you like the number of DGUs that occur yearly as according to the study by the persons who want to ban firearms ownership, or would you prefer the DGU number from the study by those that wish to secure our firearms rights?
