I got a news flash for ya: nobody, and no government, has nearly enough money. You seen the cost projections for Medicare for all? Even Joe Biden knows this.

 

Someone tell me why I should continue contributing money to this cesspool of hateful defamation.

 

The French, British, Canadians, Germans and several others manage somehow.

 

And God just hates the rest.

 

If you say so. I say it's probably defective genes. In any case we should applaud and contribute freely and voluntarily to charities like St. Jude's Hospital.

But even commercial hospitals admit poor people and give them great treatment for free. I bet you didn't know that.

LOL, I am in no hurry for you to die. I am in a hurry for you to take charge of your own life and not look to government to solve all your problems. (Do you even try? Be honest.)

It is very expensive, and anyway I don't owe you annual physicals and a bypass operation if you don't eat right and exercise. Where do you get off saying I do? I make no claims on your energy and treasure.

If you can find a charity hospital, and a free clinic, and you can if you look, then go there.

Patient dumping was indeed a problem. Yes, I know.

But I don't know how many emergency rooms as a percentage of the whole were actually turning away patients presenting acute and serious symptoms. It appears that liberals think all private hospitals did so.

I do know that most doctors in the 50s routinely treated the indigent for free. At least in my hometown they did.

It's not an easy issue, but I prefer to rely on the goodwill and common sense of local administrators than on force of law.

This is supposed to be a free country.

Private hospitals give a lot more than emergency care to the poor, risking their solvency. It's not just a building, you know. There are a lot of greedy janitors and nurses and cafeteria workers who rely on private hospital administrators to keep the ship afloat by reasonably husbanding its resources. I don't blame them for charging patients. Or do you work for free?

 

Pollution is a government responsibility, since government listen to industrial lobbyists and relax regulation.
Government is also responsible for an absence of the food quality standards (Americans mostly eat **** because no other food is available)
Lack of exercise is a result of no decent public transportation that forces people to walk more.
If government makes us sick it is 100% responsible to pay for it.
etc etc.

 

Besides being in robust good health I am far from needing anyone's charity. I'm not going to say what my income is, but I will wager it is competitive with yours at the least. (And I've not worked for one red cent of it in two decades, does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?)

Unlike most conservatives I recognize that no man is an island, and I take seriously the admonition that someone I've never thought existed may someday be telling me, "'Amen, I say to you, as much as you have done to one of these my little brothers, you have done that to me." So I give to charity instead of taking it, pay all my taxes gladly and am quite willing to pay more, as long as you do.

I think it an obscenity to cite scripture as a basis for government coercion.

I'm glad you're healthy, but I still am hearing you call on government to force me to pay your medical bills.

 

I don't begrudge doctors one penny of their salaries. It's a hard and thankless job requiring an amazing amount of training. It should be well paid, no question. Nurses aren't paid nearly enough, (especially since they all know more than the doctors)

Now bean counters who make millions on the most horrifying type of "commission" imaginable by denying people the coverage they've paid for all their lives can starve to death IMO, and they're the reason we pay so heavily for Healthcare, among others in the Insurance industry.

 

Yes, the don't, they use cars, because public transportation is unavailable.

 

Details, details, I know the devil is there but the fact still remains that they HAVE some system of single payer healthcare and we don't. I support Biden, who says we should remove those features of Obamacare that some find onerous and use that as our system.

As for this "system" business, it makes me uneasy. It's like the "need" for a light rail "system." I see ot as a decorous way of articulating dreams for population control. For uniformity. For sameness.

We've descended quite a ways since the days when men ran completely free. You don't even have the option of running free, not really, and it's getting worse every year.

 

That spending will be paid off in first six months.
I would rather pay for Medicare then for shady private insurance that can kick you out at any time.

 

How in the devil do you even associate freedom with living in fear of becoming sick or injured or losing your job. Yes, we're all going to die someday and getting sick or injured is never pleasant but you want to add to that the prospect of total bankruptcy or worse for stubbing your toe and then paint your face blue and prattle on about "FFFRREEEDDDOOOMMM" while your family's furniture is being set at the curb. Freedom from what? Being warm in winter? Having enough to eat? What?

 

I speak and it influences the way other people's live. I confuse this with government, also that I'm a part of it. I join others like me on internet forums. Abortions!

And those are actual recorded COSTS, no "projections" about it.

And those costs are NOT just the concern of the poor sick schlubs they are bankrupting. Oh no, when the victims's...er....patient's savings are gone and his wife has tearfully sold her wedding ring in a vain attempt to keep a roof over her children's heads the unpaid costs will remain and SOMEBODY has to pay for that Insurance man's new yacht. Guess who that will be, Mr Taxpayer. We ALL pay those costs in the end, TWICE as much as most any other civilized country and for what?........
