Why do blacks vote for democrats over 90% of the time?
Maybe LBJ was correct when, after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, he quipped it would give us the black (not the word he used) vote for the next hundred years.

    Yeah right.

I think we should ask the living.

8 In 10 Black Americans View Trump As ‘A Racist,’ Poll Finds

Topline: A Washington Post/Ipsos poll found that more than eight in ten black Americans view President Trump as “a racist,” with nine in ten respondents disapproving of his job performance—and with the election still ten months away, former vice president Joe Biden is (so far) black Democrats’ candidate of choice.

Conducted in January. Unless you can show a reversal somewhere, I think these black folk know why they support whom.

It's worked for 55 years. Nobody is stopping the Republicans from welcoming blacks into the party. They were doing fine until Trump came around. Hell, they selected a female running mate for McCain. Bad move, but shows progress in accepting and practicing diversity.

What's inconceivable to me is the failure of the GOP to court this constituency. Most southern blacks are God fearing Christian gun owners just like their white neighbors - conservative. They want help, but they reject economic socialism, which is why they rejected Sanders. These southerners are very socially conservative, and would be welcoming of Republicans if Republicans were welcoming of them.

The Congressional Black Caucus is composed of Democrats for a reason. 54 members. Zero Republicans.

Hopefully, Republican Party can become pro-African American.

Republican Party is now pro-Jewish. A slight majority of Orthodox Jews are Republican. The vast majority of Reform Jews are Democrat.

There is no credible record of such a statement.
    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/lbj-voting-democratic/

Another such persistent alleged quip by Johnson after he signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act: “We have lost the South for a generation.”

Maybe white Trumpers - whether of the Andrew Anglin/David Duke faction or otherwise - should be asking themselves why so many Black Americans, along with so many non-Black Americans, are considering their votes in the coming 2020 presidential election with the same pertinent question foremost in their minds?

Nothing like that happened in USSR. Jews were not welcome in some universities in 1968-86. But it was not nearly as open or brazen. USA had worse Human Rights Record then USSR.

More election cycle baloney. Americans need money for their healthcare.
They do not need more of the bureaucrats and crony capitalists that have overseen the liquidation of half a million human beings during the Wuhan China Corona Virus Pandemic.

"Key Missteps at the CDC Have Set Back Its Ability to Detect the Potential Spread of Coronavirus
The CDC designed a flawed test for COVID-19, then took weeks to figure out a fix so state and local labs could use it. New York still doesn’t trust the test’s accuracy.
In mid to late February, the CDC was trying to move responsibility for coronavirus testing from itself to state health departments — a critical step, since the CDC does not have the capacity to be the nation’s testing lab. Slides from the Feb. 19 presentation describe the process for transitioning from “Phase 1,” in which the CDC determined who was a potential COVID-19 patient and conducted all the testing, to “Phase 2,” in which local health departments would do that work and report data back to the CDC."

PROPUBLICA, "SERIES: CORONAVIRUS, Internal Emails Show How Chaos at the CDC Slowed the Early Response to Coronavirus, The CDC fumbled its communication with public health officials and underestimated the threat of the coronavirus even as it gained a foothold in the United States, according to hundreds of pages of documents ProPublica obtained., By Caroline Chen, Marshall Allen and Lexi Churchill March 26, 2020.

It's not the same party it was before Trump took over. Neither Bush was sued for discriminatory rental practices. Neither John McCain nor Bob Dole publically called for the death penalty for five innocent blacks, and never apologized. No Republican has ever called racists very good people.

It's not the same Republican Party, which is why the intellectuals have left. It's the Trump Party.

I guess you could make that distinction, but I see it as more pro-Israel than tied to the religion.

Most Americans regarding Trump as a racist (https://news.yahoo.com/new-yahoo-ne...-and-want-him-to-stop-tweeting-160841770.html) is hardly likely to dispose most Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, or other Americans to vote for him - even as neo-nazis and other white supremacists offer their continuing support and endorsements.

When conservatives take back the GOP from the RINOs of Trumpery, they will have the opportunity to address Black issues, attract Black voters, elect Black politicians, and reform its identity as an overwhelmingly White Party. Otherwise, that Party is doomed:

BezosWaPo = MSM = Fake News

In fact black Americans have been trending away from the DP since AntiFa/BLM started burning their communities and murdering young black Americans. Hardly a surprise.

I'll take their word for it. I've never been able to dismiss things out of hand by saying "fake news." Well, except for the existence of sky gods.

No, black Americans are not trending away from Democrats. Quite the opposite.

Putting aside Lyndon's fake quote and Lindsey's real one, it may come as a surprise to some hyper-partisans that this attitude is not conducive to attracting the growing percentage of non-White Americans to the GOP:

Black Americans are trending toward Trump and against the DP.
The RP, as opposed to Trump, will have a harder time convincing black Americans to vote affirmatively for other Republican candidates.
Many of the votes against Democrats in November will not represent support for the Republican Party and its candidates, but they will help Republicans win elections.

True. Both parties have severe flaws. I do not blame anyone voting for either party.

You have to consider HOW people think.

Mature, logical people for example tend to think long-term. They believe in personal responsibility and values- that you are what you make yourself. They tend to think independently; think things out for themselves based on principles they hold in high respect and as universal.

Other people think responsibility belongs to those who cause their reactions- people who make them mad, fail to treat them as they think they deserve, in general-they hold society, not themselves, responsible for their fortunes in life. Their world is much more emotional than logical, short-term thinking rather than long term planned- and they are, as a result, easy to manipulate.

The first group knows there is no free lunch; the second one is sure there is, and they have been cheated out of their share. Politicians are expert at manipulating people according to their base motivations- telling them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

Black people are not "one kind of people". There are mature cultures and extreme anti-social cultures within them. Some are mature thinkers, responsible, great parents and future builders- great citizens. Unfortunately, a lot of them are not. While these conditions are true in all races, the latter seems to have a larger percentage of black people than others.

Fact is- mature, logical, fair people solve problems with honest discussion, not violence and wild claims. The other kind of person operates on a basis closer to juvenile thinking, and hard time resolving anything in a way that endures or works.

This is an amusing comment, but it doesn't actually say anything relevant. We know that right wing attitudes go hand in hand with bigotry (this forum is a great advert at showing that). We just need to recognise that the semi-right (which includes the mainstream Dems) isn't going to fight against that reality.
