Maybe that flies at the shelter, but in the real world, women are attracted to power, because that is their nature, to seek a mate who will help insure the survival of their offspring and money is power.
Just like men are attracted to symmetrical features, clear smooth skin, an hourglass figure, signs that indicate a woman will bear healthy children.

it depends! if we're going into a commitment i just wanna know if my partner can provide for the family if something happens to me or vise versa. and to tell you the truth i believe a women shouldnt depend on a mans money. we're out of that day and age! unless you have brain damage you are capable of getting a job and having money in your pocket! i wouldnt mind paying half of the bill if we went out, i just wanna feel comfortable knowing he can provide if something happens... but i think masculinity has a role to play in the way act about money...

While I don't intend to speak for all women or classify them outrightly, I have learned a few things about the feminine genre.

Women are naturally just as apt to provide for themselves their own careers, earnings, and level of a standard of living as any man. They are quite adequate at defining their purpose of existence. However they seek the provisions not relative to their strengths. Women tend to seek the comfort in physical and tangible security of the male bravado. Other traits disired in men include one who will listen, provide unrecipricated empathy or sympathy, and an earnest amount of time devoted to nurturing a relationship.

Yes some women are artificially interested in riches but they most often out-grow this notion. The heart overtakes the youthful ambition for extravagance. Adversly the same could be said for men. We also have a learning-curve. We, at youth, seek the idea of the epitome of beauty at the behest of testosterone.

We are all slave to our hormones but as we age and experience creeps in we all learn more about what we desire and stand to offer another.

Men are visually oriented...they care about a woman's physical appearance.

Women are status oriented...they care about a man's ability to provide.

There's lots of stuff in between, and regardless of a person's looks or status they can still find love out there...but generally speaking the above can be applied to Western culture at least.
