It's because cutting down on poisonous emissions and contaminating our rivers and streams because of factories and big business would be expensive. Nothing New!! Industry has hogged the show in America since the industrial revolution and unless they're forced to do something about it human kind is doomed. There is a point from which there is no recovery!

Big Business looks at one thing and one thing only.....bottom line profits.

Since Republican candidates for political positions get most of their campaign contributions from big corporations and wealthy people this is no surprise.

Because democrats have politicized and subverted science. At least you now have a Pope to lead the new religion.

Global warming has been hyped for about two decades. It really isn't taken seriously or a topic among a captive audience anymore. Climate fluctuation has exsisted as long as the earth has and wayyyy before humans. We are actually experiencing relatively cooler temperatures currently.
What prominent democrats use global warming as a platform currently?

Actually about 3 decades and during two of those there has been no warming.

Haha...which is why it gets no press or political attention. It's a joke. You can only cry wolf of impending doom for a time. Hoosier8, where do you live and what is your political persuasion?

The flags should give me away, Indiana and Libertarian. I am basically strongly for freedom and strongly against progressive ideology of control.

What about diversity? The Pride parade pretty much happens in front of my house. Just went motorcycle riding with a Lesbian friend yesterday. I don't give a shyte what people want to do as long as it does not harm others and that is a very debatable issue depending on how far you want to take it.

Indiana is a very welcoming State and the left here and nationally have tilted at windmills lately for political reasons.

Pence, a previous right wing radio host is controversial and not especially popular in a fairly right wing State. I don't predict voting trends but some of the opposition is not that palatable either.

Are you opposed to the government encouraging racial homogeneity like they do for racial diversity?

I am for freedom which means government butting out of social issues. That is one of the reasons I am against progressive ideology due to it's main tenet being social engineering. The religious right is not much different and should butt out of politics.

What a coinkidink! I am a Libertarian, too! I think our best hope is a third party...but career politicians in Washington won't make it easy!!
What do you think is the most detrimental thing regarding federal government? What is your opinion of Ron Paul?

Third parties have a hard time breaking the monopoly by the two traditional parites.

The most detrimental thing regarding the Federal government is the progressive movement starting mostly with Woodrow Wilson. Once the government turned on the spigot of money by taxing labor is when it started to become massively elitist and corrupt. Previous to that most issues were settled as original constitutional intent.

I have a general distrust of politicians. As one local State politician once said, "You have to sell your soul to get to Washington." Paul will get nowhere beyond where he is now because the powers that have control will never let that happen and the liberal media will portray him as scary.

    Shucks...are you (*)(*)(*)(*)tin' me?

A survey of all peer-reviewed abstracts on the subject 'global climate change' published between 1993 and 2003 shows that not a single paper rejected the consensus position that global warming is man caused (Oreskes 2004).

Hmmmmm, didn't Nixon sign the Clean Air Act into law and didn't George H. Bush make it stronger?

Seems the OP has his facts wrong.

I don't know about Republicans, but I do know about my self. I realize the earth goes through many, many cycles, both hot and cold. Ice ages comes and goes with warm periods in-between. I realize the tilt of the earth and sun spots also effect the climate to a huge extent. It's called mother earth doing her thing.

I am highly peeved to have to pay 3 or 4 thousand dollars more for a car that I should because of all that junk they put under the hood. That is money out of my pocket, I am peeved that the cost of electricity keeps rising because we won't use the cheapest form of energy to produce it. It seems to me the only goal of all these climate change fanatics is to make me go bankrupt while they line their pockets with my and others cash. Gore has become a multi millionaire spouting this stuff if not a billionaire. All coming out of my and others pockets.

Climate change is nothing more than a cash cow hoodwinking most Americans. Personally, I think mankind has much more to fear from another ice age, predicted to be a few years off in the 70's by the same people who predict his global warming now. Only it didn't happened, did it? From people like you came the prediction that all the ice in the arctic would be melted by 2010, last I looked good old Santa was still nice and cool.

Miami was suppose to be submerged by now, last I looked it was still there. You do know those who have to pay for all of this junk, pay the most for it, that burden is taken up by the poor while the rich climate change folks like Gore live in their mansions eating up tons and tons of energy.

I only speak for myself and no one else, I keep wondering how much more of my money you want from me, from me and others to go into your pocket.

No....you don't realize that it's even worse than forecast. I was born in 1934...this bull(*)(*)(*)(*) about there not being man made climate change is a fable supported and funded by big business and their scabs....REPUBLICANS!

Do you remember Al Gore saying there would be no permanent ice left at this point?

    It was scientifically proven.

He won a Nobel Prize for it.

Well, facts don't seem to matter to you since hurricanes have not increased globally and the trend has not changed for the US since 1851.
