    .

    1. Hillary Clinton is a status quo candidate in a "change" election. She is John McCain to Barack Obama in 2008.

    2. Real time and near real time deconstruction of MSM false narratives by an alternative media that has come to
parity with conventional media in reach.

Is this not what you are seeing day by day ? Or are you watching the mirage created by the MSM and their surrogate polls ?

Are you buying newspaper stocks for your portfolio ?

Someone please remember to revive this thread a few hours after polls close on the East Coast.

You are attempting to use logic and common sense to predict the results of this campaign. As the floating of Trump to the surface of the political cess pool has shown us this not an election cycle that can or should be explained with normal common sense logic. Also do not forget the fact that Bernie Sanders a non Democrat and self admitted " Socialist" did not go away quietly into the night.

More like Trump is the new McGovern. This is a repeat of Nixon-McGovern and we're forced with the same choice.

Seppuku is "change", no doubt, but most sensible folks prefer continuity and eschew it.

Both viewpoints are wrong. Trump is not doomed because there are three weeks left and Trump has hired 7 bishops, 6 priests, 5 nuns, 4 rabbis, 3 ministers, 2 phony evangelists , and a defrocked Anglican gay priest to pray for a terrorist attack.

Hillary has 666 athiests "praying" that people do not care about Email mania.

As Yogi said only you can prevent first fires. No wait it,s not over until it,s over.

I'm not sure this is a change election. comparing 2008 to 2016 President Bush had a 30% approval rating, President Obama is at 53%. You had the recession in 2008 and only a slow recovery and improving economy today. Except for a day or two right after the GOP convention, McCain trailed Obama between 5-10 points in almost every poll. Obama won the election by 7 points, right in the middle of all those polls which showed McCain losing by 6-10

This year Clinton has led in almost every poll except for a few days right after the GOP convention. Her lead has been smaller than Obama's, usually between 3-5 points since the beginning of the year. But she has increased her lead over the last two weeks to 7 points using today's RCP four candidate field. Compared to 2008 Obama led by 10 in the middle of October 2008, Clinton up by 7 middle of October.

Status quo, the Republican House looks like it will stay Republican. The GOP probably will lose around 15 seats, but they have a 30 seat majority. They can afford that especially if Clinton maintains her seven point lead which seems very likely. The Democrats will regain the senate, picking up 5-6 seats, but their margin will be a 2-4 seat majority. This election is not a change election as I see it. It is actually an election where the people are a bit uneasy over the economy, a bit, but not up in arms demanding change, an election where the outgoing president has a good approval rating and the majority of Americans are happy with him. Not like Bush in 2008.

It is an election where the majority of Americans dislike both candidates and aren't happy with either outside of their avid supporters. But it is an election where Clinton is less disliked than Trump, here lately by a larger margin. Of course Clinton has always been less disliked than Trump from the beginning of the year.

In short, if the Republicans wanted a win in November, they nominated the wrong candidate. They nominate about the only candidate sure to lose to Hillary Clinton. If Hillary becomes the next president, it is the Republicans who voted for Trump and made him their nominee where that responsibility lies. Squarely on their shoulders. The American people would have chosen someone else other than Hillary if the Republicans had nominated a decent candidate. The GOP screwed the pooch.

I will be clear. Trump is doomed. He is finished.

Sex and drug scandals have swapped positions over the last 50years. It used to be you could get a pass on sex but no pass on drugs. Now no one cares about drugs but will nail our hide to the wall for a sex scandal.

Women are abandoning the Trump campaign in droves. He cannot win without them. He has alienated Hispanic/Latino vote. He never had the African-American vote. He has now lost the women's vote. The only people left voting for Trump in numbers are White males and he is losing White educated males. He is literally losing every demographic except for white uneducated males. Even among white uneducated males he is losing the younger demographic and only winning with men 45yo and up. The 45yo and up male represents 20% of the overall population. Of that 20% about 60% of that 20% are have no college degree. That leaves Trump only winning 12% of the population demographic. Of that demographic he is only winning by 18%.

There is no way with demographics like that Trump can win.

Good example of the rabid and hysterical level the corporate media and press went to stop the non-warhawk candidate.

    Oh, for sure.

Especially from around April and May when Trump's Delusionists were at a Fever (Swamp) Pitch.

They seem to have switched away from the endless "Trump will win" type posts to posting every conspiracy theory that they read on FB, Breitbart, or Infowars. It's been interesting watching the change.

    Exactly.

FROM The DELUSION of thinking Trump had a chance...

TO the DESPERATION of knowing that he has already lost...

Even Trump knows he's lost. Why else would he be setting up excuses for it ahead of time?

If it makes the hardcore Trumpies less disposed to lash out violently at America, I do not believe that the electorate will award Clinton more that 347 electoral votes. Their messiah would receive the remaining 191.

And Paul Ryan will remain Speaker. Their Turtle might even still be Majority Leader.

    An excellent, comprehensive assessment:

It has been precisely as one might have predicted. My only concern is whether they become violent when the electorate makes its choice.

It certainly looks as though Hillary Clinton will win in November.

    Donald Trump will lose.

America may also lose because of the campaign Trump ran...and because of his determination to take the country down with him by attempting to delegitimize the election and the process.

The reason for America's stability over the years is the peaceful transition of the presidency...which Trump and his supporters seem determined to undermine.

I agree with Donald Trump on one thing, though. The last word of his post of a few days ago: "SAD."

I guess it depends on the people.

You never know what a wounded and cornered deplorable will do.

The typical Trump supporter will just complain and whine all over the internet for a while. Others will never stop. There probably will be more extreme reactions but I don't expect wide-spread violence. You never know; we've seen that Donald's deplorable denizens defy logic, reality, and rational thinking.

I'm going to say with about 80% certainty that life will go on as usual. Whining right-wingers all over the place about how they are oppressed and possible a slight increase in right-wing terrorism.

Wasn't the GOP headquarters firebombed just a few days ago by left-wing terrorists? But you're worried about right wing terrorism.

    Wow, not transparent at all.
