Why is freedom such a hard sell?

Ah, yes; not to disagree with you, I love your post undertheice—but it appears several posts after mine and your post gets 5 likes re-explaining precisely the philosophical points I have explained over and over and been argued with twenty effing times by dozens of people in this thread, that freedom is subjective and a balance in the dance of law is key. But, you know—argue with someone who spells things out then hypocritically the circus of monkeys jumps to like a post of the same accord. This world is so stupid, and the majority of people on these forums are obviously nothing short of absolute idiots who think they're here to play favorites with personality & mind games.

FYI, everyone who wanted to argue with me on the same points then like this girl's post to play games: I curse you.

Seems like people are naturally lazy and will always gravitate toward what appears easiest. So if someone is offering to prop them up in exchange for some of their freedom, most will go along with it just so they don't have to be bothered with the work of being free.

    Extremely stupid, I agree.

That notion applies to you as well. To be really free, you could move to the Alaskan wilderness and hunt your own food -- nobody to hold you accountable and no taxes to pay to the hated government. But, I guess you are too lazy to go for REAL freedom and you rather choose the easy way.

Because you don't know what you have until you lose it. When government promises to give you everything it's easy to buy into it. Just think of the dealer or the pimp who makes you feel like you are special, that they will give you things, only to find out later that you are just another to be used for their benefit.

There are two more ideologies; individual tyranny and governmental liberty. Here, "freedom" has always been used to sell people on doing without while individuals make off with the booty.

You do understand that Alaska is part of America and thus subject to the laws of the American government, right?

I do. Did you see the movie "Into the wild", based on a real story? Did Christopher McCandless pay taxes? Or care for government regulations when he was 100s of miles away from civilization? If you love freedom so much and are so hard working and dedicated, why don't you follow in McCandless' footsteps?

What about states power and sovereignty under the 1787 constitution?
