Why Luke Combs' cover of Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car' is sparking controversy

    Does everything have to be about race/gender/sexuality? Chapman seems to fine with the song's resurgence and it winning the CMA awards. Can't singers work in whatever genre of music the want:

    Chapman who doesn't do much in public anymore, will be singing the song with Combs at the Grammys tonight.

    It is a good song and Combs stayed pretty much true to the original without changing anything about it, so I have never understood the butt hurt over it. Plus he is making Chapman a ton of cash as the one who wrote and owns the rights to it.
