Huffington Post is a Democratic publication and generally just partisan crap. The source I provided is the closest to unbiased, though Politifacts leans somewhat left. The stats of Australia are clear and have been posted. Murder rates went up dramatically when handgun ownership what banned. In response, Australia radically increased the number of police and murder rates eventually came back to pre-ban levels. The only thing the ban did was get a bunch of people killed. All mass murder victims were unarmed - as you want them to be. So this raises many questions of your opinion, since even the Clinton Administration admitted people having firearms prevent millions of major crimes and prevent 200,000 rapes EVERY year. A question (not accusation). Some time ago I read an article in a New York newspaper written by a woman who claimed she used to carry a handgun after having been sexually assaulted, and practiced with it often. But a guy she was dating explained to her that risk of being raped is just part of what comes with being a woman - and her carrying a firearm contradicted her womanhood. She agreed with him and stopped carrying a firearm. Since you want women disarmed and defenseless, do you agree with her that being raped is just part of being a woman and that it would be wrong for a woman to even display having a firearm to try to prevent being raped? Do claim it would be wrong for a woman to shoot and kill a man who was trying to rape her? I gather your answer is yes?
