    One has to choose to defend their rights in the first place. Once again, you just failed.
    The 2nd amendment isn’t some independent being that prevents the government from taking rights all by itself.

    True, but you don’t seem to grasp what the 2nd amendment is for.
    I don’t think your government is ever going to overtly violate your rights, I don’t think the US government is going to that as well, but the 2nd amendment is there just in case.
    And, oh yeah it’s not going anywhere, so as much as you grumble, and complain about it, nothing is going to change.
    So good luck with that.

    You don’t seem to understand what the power of the people is for - the “government is not your master but your servant and that is the way it should be. It governs for the good of the majority and the minute that stops we can sack them and start again
