For the life of me I could NOT understand why the Dems would do something so stupid as impeachment but: ..... THE ONLY LOGICAL EXPLANATION FOR WHAT THE DEMS DID IS THAT THEY KNOW PRESIDENT TRUMP IS UNBEATABLE IN 2020!!!
I think that's part of it, but it's deeper than that. The establishment is terrified that Trump is going to uncover and expose their many schemes to enrich themselves and their families at taxpayer expense. The Bidens in Ukraine is but one example.
Saudi Arabia would be a good place to look next.. I'd expect some assassinations if they did that though. Ukraine is chump change.
I’m convinced, by the fact that they rejected multiple votes to impeach, that they truly have something. Whether or not they have built a convincing enough case will be decided next November. I don’t believe any case, no matter how damning for the president, would convince the republican lead Senate of Trumps wrong doing. As such I won’t count their acts as a true metric. I guess we will see.
They have several goals with this impeachment farce. The first is to politically weaken Trump while the leftist allied Mainstream Media tries the case for month after month in talk show and editorial segment ad nauseam. But what that in turn gains them -- they hope -- is allowing whichever one of three clowns the DNC decides is going to be their nominee at least a bare bones chance of surviving going toe to toe against Trump in a presidential contest. They also hope to condemn the GOP in general via the impeachment farce by way of getting voters to put more leftist representatives and senators in office. The problem with all of that, however, is that as of yet only leftists themselves are buying into this impeachment as being anything other than a blatantly politically partisan leftist farce and yet another in their series of 'Get Trump' witch hunts . . . and the nation is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tired of those leftist games at the expense of this entire nation. Meh . . . but we shall see.
I believe that it's not impossible that Trump could have done something impeachable. The Democrats however did not make their case at all. To me it appears as purely a political move to discredit Trump for 2020. However, i believe the Senate has a lot more integrity and they will do the right thing. The house however hasn't given them much to work with.
The democrats have lowered the bar so low for impeachment that I can't wait to hear they wailing and crying down the road,(maybe 18 years from now) when a democrat is president and Republicans write up impeachment papers 20 minutes after the new ass is sworn in.
It's not my idea but a couple of my friends. This isn't about any short term gains. This is about the long term. Anyone who looks up Trump after this will look into the history books and see how rabid the defense of Trump was and wonder how did we get there? More specifically, the young ones who are watching the news right now and might not be able to vote, will remember this. Trump's done a lot of things that sketchy to say the least. Say what you want, but someone is going to have to defend him in the future and it's not going to be a pretty defense. Don't even think about impeachment, the Mueller report or anything like that. Think about everything that will come out in the future about this. They're going to be siding with the party that stood up to this. The GOP already has a serious issue with demographics. Imagine how much worse this is going to be when the GOP in the future has to explain why they stood with a President who did a lot of things wrong.

I think it's the same when something private and explicitly personal did impeach a Democratic President before as always it's the quest for political power.
The Republicans were not able to remove Clinton and the same thing will happen with Democrats to Trump, I think Impeachment is just a political and character trial learning from the past that non of the impeached POTUS was ever removed, they are only two of them actually.

I think they feel a kind of moral responsibility to impeach a president who, in their opinion, is doing more harm than good to the country.

I honestly see the current impeachment process as a diversion from the coming horrors that have been organized and ready to be implemented. I say this because President Trump used his executive power to literally ban 1A on college campuses. If the president has such contempt for one of the main staples of our constitution, who knows what other types of evils he and others in the General government have in store for the American public.
Not even close. It takes 67 votes to convict. Article I had 45, Article II had 50. The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. Article I, Section 3, Clause 6
Couldn't vote in the poll because none of the choices worked for me. So, why did they impeach Trump? I guess the simple answer is, "BECAUSE THEY COULD...!" They didn't have to have a reason, all they needed was to be able to produce a majority vote in the House (where Democrats have a majority).... Think about it... Democrats have been 'chewing at the straps' to find some way to harm everything he has tried to do, impeach him, and get rid of him since the day after he won the 2016 election! Besides, hell, they've been 'butt-hurt' over Bill Clinton getting impeached for 21 years ago. Sweet revenge! Bill was nailed specifically for lying under oath to a grand jury, and, for obstructing justice. The Demo-mob has gone after Trump for two reasons that do not actually describe a crime, per se, which seems pretty, uh, strange to just about everybody who doesn't just automatically hate Trump "for the hell of it"....
