Why would Trump float Tulsi Gabbards name as a VP pick if he was pro gun?

He has to float moderate females. The process typically involves surveys and polling to see how strong his ticket will be in specific states to help him win against his opponents. Running the numbers doesn't mean he's going to pick them, obviously.

Englishman? well my Paternal Grandfather's great grandfather came from England. My Paternal Grandmother's family had been in Cincinnati since around 1804, prior to that NY. Most of her family were British or Danish by way of Scotland (vikings who remained in scotland for hundreds of years). A member of that part of the family was Major Anderson of Ft Sumter fame. My mother was a bit more varied-her father was the descendent of French Huguenots who ended up in England about the Time of the era depicted in the Three Musketeers. Her mother was a of English and German heritage. Of the German heritage, we never could find out since that side of the family was based in Dresden and was either lutheran or Jewish but the records were either destroyed by the Nazis or allied firebombing. Plenty of English heritage too including Millard Fillmore and William Henry Harrison.

I think the last ancestor of mine from England was circa 1835 IIRC

Fair enough, look up the speech this quote came from. You’ll find it encouraging to the right to bear arms.

England ONCE had a great tradition of the RKBA. English lords encouraged or even required their minions to not only own bows and arrows, but many of them provided practice facilities so English Archers could dominate French and other enemies. Blackstone speaks of the right. Of course by WWII England was begging Americans to send them firearms to help stave off a predicted Nazi invasion.

So you believe that someone willing to risk the penalty for committing murder would not risk the penalty for possessing a banned firearm with centerfire ammo and a magazine/cylinder?

That is the main objective. If they can restrict guns to single shot, rim fire. they are only one step away from the final goal of banning all firearms. Once they ban firearms, they can ban anything they want!

that's why I asked him how many gun fights has he studied. ME-HUNDREDS. I have watched police officers who have good qualification scores-engage in close range gun fights with felons and dozens of rounds are fired without a hit. this took place about 25 minutes from my home and we saw this tape dozens of times on local news

that's the question that eviscerates the silly claims that we can stop armed robbery or even mass murder by merely making possession of a weapon illegal.

the magazine limit is clearly part of that nefarious scheme.

All your average person needs to do is watch one of the bajillion cop videos out there to get a clue, and supposedly cops are the best shots in the world according to them.

The 2nd Amendment protects the right to own and use "all bearable arms" - firearms in common use for traditionally legal purposes.
It is impossible to soundly argue this term does not include firearms such as the AR15.
