I went with "I do hope so" for a number of reasons...... I want President Donald J. In my opinion...... as soon as President Donald J. Trump officially tosses his hat in the race..... it is his....... but for some reasons that are beyond my ability to fully comprehend.... he may actually wish to distract his opponents by letting Ted Cruz accomplish what would appear to be quite a lot....... Ted Cruz has done a great job of embarrassing Dr. Tony Fauci.... which in my opinion is a wonderful thing to see happening! Ted Cruz still wants to be president. Can he win over the Trump faithful? His 2016 bid went badly. But if Trump stays out in 2024, Cruz is sure to make another try.
If Trump runs, it would position Cruz as VP. If Trump runs in 2024, he can elevate Cruz nationally by choosing him as VP for a four year slot. That would set the stage for a Cruz/DeSantis monopoly in the primary for 2028. An eight year gig as a VP is a career killer, A four year gig is not. (Plus Cruz could slide into SCOTUS if there is an opening). The democrats are still crippled by Pelosi’s gamesmanship of not allowing up and comers to get any sunlight, so their bench will still be a bunch of midgets hoping to grow.
