As Monty python used to say, "And now for something REALLY different" The polls are saying that maybe...MAYBE the Republicans will get 51 to 49 in the Senate. But there are some last minute moves in play that could change that in Colorado and Kansas. KANSAS????? The point I am making is one that seems to have eluded the press. I have seen nothing on FOX, MSNBC, CNN, or any of the more rational stations. Nothing in the press either. What if the count winds up 50 - 50? With the extreme partisanship of today, that means the President of the Senate gets to break the tie. And that would be Joe Biden. Maybe he will wind up being called Joe the Boss. (Giuseppe "Joe the Boss" Masseria (January 17, 1886 April 15, 1931) was an early Mafia Boss in New York City.) Of course, we couldn't sing the old Steven Foster southern ballad of "Old Black Joe". Wouldn't seem proper with Obama as President and all. Democrats, of course, could sing "Joesahna in the Highest" (except at Easter. Again, not proper). Senators could start the day with a "cup of Joe" (some with cream and sugar, some with arsenic). Would his Mother become 'Hey! Joe MAMMA! (probably not proper either) Still, the possibility is pretty high that Joe could "be da man". Yet no one seems to want to even consider it. Any thoughts??
