Puts penalties in place for those that repeatedly engage “in violent or other disorderly conduct that materially and substantially disrupts the free expression of others.” Why is this important? Because freedom of speech leads to freedom of thought, but universities seem to think their job is to teach students what to think instead of HOW to think. Our students need to be able to engage in the free exchange of ideas without the fear of a staff member hitting them in the head with a bike lock. Reasonable Penalties and Due Process. A student found guilty of aggressively disrupting others’ speech two times could be subject to a minimum one-semester suspension. A third violation could result in expulsion. Very very reasonable. Wisconsin Republicans to reintroduce campus free speech bill. Since 2017, states that have passed campus free speech laws include Alabama, Kentucky, South Dakota, Tennessee, Colorado, Iowa, Georgia, Texas and Arkansas. Soon Wisconsin will be added to this growing and exemplary list.
They ban far more than “pro-white idiots”. They ban mainstream conservative thought. Mild mannered Dwight Eisenhower would be skewered by speech codes today. If it’s not deemed to be politically correct (meaning leftist), it’s shut down.
Liberalism- is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed, and equality before the law.
So if the Aryan Brotherhood wants to speak at Oral Roberts it's okay? In fact they must allow any and all people the right to speak at colleges even if it's someone they hate...Wow, I can't wait to give a speech about gay porn at a super religious college...and they MUST pay me for services rendered from said speech..
Very simple equation.... works every time. If a Republican is for it, there's a catch.... The trick is to find it.... The entire country has a free speech law... P.S. Here's an article on Shapiro and Wisconsin and Free Speech from May 2018... is this a current event?? https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation...consin-campus-with-ripples-across-the-country
That sounds good, but it’s had political correctness as a top priority for 30+ years and that shuts down free speech.
There certainly is a lot of hatred for us. ‘Oh jesus tap dancing christ’: Uncovered emails show U. Kentucky employees mocking conservative students. University of Kentucky apologizes for conspiring against, mocking conservative club. "they are going to be mad they waited forever and I declined them whoops."
They hate Clarence Thomas just passionately. Despite their claims and constant reference to race and skin color, it really has nothing to do with either. It has to do with shutting down, shutting up, and otherizing those that disagree with them.
I don't care what you say to me. Take the set of all characters (a,b,c,..., 1, 2, 3,..., ?, !, #, etc), then take the set of all combinations of these characters going out to a length of 200 characters. I am perfectly fine with anything in that set being said to me. The only case where I'm not going to just say "yeah right, whatever you say buddy" is when you make an imminent, credible threat of violence against me. But I recognize that part of freedom of expression is the ability to set your OWN policy on YOUR private property. So while I would personally prefer if anyone... hardcore Stalin apologists and Holodomor deniers, hardcore Hitler apologists and Holocaust deniers, a.n.y.o.n.e was allowed to speak and express themselves without academic or financial penalty... That's their call to make.
