Trump and Wall Street have always been peas in a pod, and they always will be. After billing himself as the anti-establishment man, the populist billionaire who promised the working class that he was going to “Make American Great Again”, has just issued a “slap in the face” to the American people. He is going to repeal the Dodd-Frank bill that was enacted to, at least partially, reign in Wall Street bankers and hedge fund managers. Once Dodd-Frank is repealed bankers will be given the green light to begin again the process of wiping out trillions of dollars in assets of the American people by selling their 401K plans and pension fund accounts risky and bad debts.

In a stunning display of Trump’s critical thinking skills, Trump said that ‘for sure there would be bad loans made, but then there are bad loans made today’. Of course this makes no sense. Instead of strengthening the regulations to limit the number of bad loans made by bankers, Trump will give them more leeway to continue to make them.

Interesting article on why the banking industry is not afraid of Donald Trump.

A good article on the similarities between Trump and Hitler, especially concerning his economic policies. A rather long, but interesting read.

You are aware that even Warren is against the current Dodd-Frank Bill right? Neither is Sanders.

    Want change? Bring back Glass-Steagall.

You are aware that their opposition was because they believed that Dodd Frank wasn't strong enough.

Trump has NO intention of offering a stronger bill, nor will a Republican congress enact one.

This is Trump pandering to Wall Street (as I predicted he would from the beginning) The man is totally for sale.

    So, what's your point?

Don't tell me that. Tell your savior Trump that. He is the one that is going to give Wall Street everything it wants.

Comparing Trump to Hitler means the article is absurd and not worth reading.

    Hillary Clinton is Joseph Stalin.

    Dodd-Frank should be repealed.

I've done some searching, but can't find a Trump statement on Glass-Steagall, for or against. If he's against the much weaker Dodd-Frank, it's hard to imagine him favoring Glass-Steagall.

On the other hand, there's no way he could be more in the pocket of Wall Street than Clinton.

What's the matter. Afraid you might recognize him as being similar to Hitler.

    Here's some snippets:

Well he does have a lot of catching up to do.

Trump is for sale, as all true whores are.

Clinton can be relied on, Trump can't be trusted by anyone.

He is going to "repeal" it? The President doesn't have that power.

Dodd Frank did not replace the Glass Steagal protections that Bill Clinton and the earlier Republican Congress repealed.
Dodd Frank did not solve "to big to fail" it has gotten worse.

Dodd/Frank does need to be redone. Everyone knows that.

Clinton can be relied on. Now that there is funny. Relied on by whom? The middle east leaders with the most cash to donate to that delightful charity ( hahaha ) the Clinton foundation. Now that's rich.

I agree with you, Don Diego. The President doesn't have the power to repeal legislation, so Trump cannot do what he is promising to do.

Dodd-Frank has many unintended consequences and needs to be fixed. Further legislation is also necessary to fix "too big to fail."

Our Congress seems to not know that when something isn't broken, like Glass-Stegal, it doesn't need fixing. Dodd-Frank was an attempt to fix the problem repealing Glass -Stegal caused, but it didn't.

Trump goes back on another empty promise he made to the legions of ignorant to fool them into voting for him. That sentence is becoming a recurring theme. Not to worry, the trumpbots will engage their excuse protocol and attempt to deflect to hillary.

    Oh look, it's already happened.

Even when he agrees with them on the smallest things they have to fake outrage with phrases like has just issued a “slap in the face” to the American people

Yes Clinton has shown herself to be very reliable. In that you can rely upon a total lack of good judgement. She is the biggest hawk, she is a neocon and and neoliberal. She is like many of our rulers, a sociopath, that lies when its convenient, and only having power matters, and it does not matter how she gets it. She is owned by the banking cabal, and MNCs. It was her husband who moved the dems to the right, and she agreed with it, and effectively destroyed the progressive party of FDR which had actually looked out for the American people who work for a living. These are hard facts, and her supporters are either neocons, neoliberals, hate FDR progressivism, or they live in denial, something they accuse the GOP of doing.

The facts matter to rational humans. To sycophants, they just are these small hurdles, about an inch tall, that can be skipped over. The facts prove what Clinton is. And to many so called liberals, its does not make one damn bit of difference. Genuiine progressives in the democratic party are practically all gone, purged, in the same way the GOP purged and purified itself of moderate republicans like Ike. Neither FDR nor Ike would stand a chance today in either party. For both are owned, by elites, and neither have any intention of representing anyone other than the elites when it comes to money, our economy. They only vary on social issues, a distraction used to give up this oligarchy. That we are an oligarchy is what the Princeton Study evidenced, using public policy that favors the elite economic interests. But that does not matter with the sycophants. They just choose to ignore it, but at their own peril. Or the peril of their children and grandchildren.

Way I figure it, the sycophants, will get what they deserve, sooner or later. Or their sins will be suffered by their children. At the end of the day, we indeed get the gov't that we deserve. The idiocy is sown, and the idiots will reap what they have sown. Until the non idiots finally revolt, and we start hanging the idiot sycophants, and blood runs in the streets, as Chris Hedges says is the only way to wrestle the power back from the elites, the oligarchs. This is a common thread in the history of humanity. Only blood and violence prevails when the corruption gets as deep as it is now. You literally have to kill the bastards in order to stop them. I am not promoting this, just a student of history, who does not forget what history teaches.
