Woke Squad member Ayanna Pressley claims Walgreens is RACIST for closing stores in crime-ridden area

Stop me if you've heard this one before. Ayanna Pressley says when Walgreens closes a pharmacy, it is racist and not because they allow the pharmacy to be looted every day.

A Walgreens pharmacy closed in her district. They transferred the prescriptions to another Walgreens pharmacy a mile away. She claims there was no "adequate notice." There are laws on the books about how pharmacies transition when they close. There's no indication that Walgreens did not follow the adequate notice laws like they do other store closures.

The problem, according to Retailers Association of Massachusetts President Jon Hurst, is that Massachusetts changed the threshold for a felony to be theft over $1,200, and prosecutors are not enforcing misdemeanor retail theft. The thieves know how much they're "allowed" to steal without consequence, so they have retail theft gangs who steal from stores until they are forced to close.

This is a direct result of the policies that Ayanna Pressley promotes.

 

Its hard to run businesses in lefty-land. These thieves are still not stealing as much as the politicians!

 

These people are so backwards, they expect the company to keep being robbed blind to support they're community and don't hold the people stealing accountable.

It's unreal.

 

How come she didn't address the reason for the store closing down?

 

This is one area I don’t understand about liberals, it’s obvious that reducing penalties only amplify crime and we see results like this.

She did. They hate black and brown people. Not cause of the gross levels of violent crime in black and brown neighborhoods. No. Is hey hate black and brown people. Because she's retarded.

 

Not sure what part you don't get. White people are the enemy. Yes even you white liberals. They're just using you because they perceive you as having a voice because you're white... until they get what they want and then they're going to lump all you white libs in with us far right conservatives... because we are all white. But guess what? When they throw you to the wolves... we ain't gonna want you either because you sold us out.

Why don't Ayanna Pressley open up a drug store in the same location. Put her money where her big dumb mouth is.

I think that Americans should have the best standard of living in the world. You give me a conservative that isn’t trying to punish women and gay people — that believe in actual strong borders and a defensive military — one that revises the tax code to make it where billionaires are paying less than their secretary, and where we have healthcare and childcare while giving our youth the best education in the world then I will vote for them.

Unfortunately right wing politicians seem to only have a handful of policies and almost all of them center around “triggering the libs” and hurting their enemies.

The question wasn’t really directed toward someone with your views of how you feel others feel. I was asking people for their thoughts as to why they support these policies.

 

Right but see what you're describing is a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. There's a reason why they don't exist in any number. Because they are mutually exclusive. The fiscal conservative is fiscally conservative because he's doesn't have to pay for the buttload of social programs that exist in the socially liberal ideology.

When you force him to pay for all of those social programs he INHERENTLY ceases to be a fiscal conservative because in order to pay for them he has to become fiscally aggressive (ie liberal).

You're never going to find the combination you're looking for because they are incompatible. You have to choose one or the other. You have chosen socially liberal. That's cool but fair warning. They don't give a **** about you because you're white.

 

But yet “fiscally conservative” socially conservatives spend the same — if not more — than social liberals do.

Can you explain Nordic countries? I have family that live there and they seem to have a relative balance

I am socially liberal because I lean libertarian in that area — I think people for the most part should be left alone but we should have our taxpayer dollars work for us.

 

Well let's take Denmark for instance. In order to pay for their public education and healthcare and the multitude of other social programs they have a top tax rate of 60%. They pay excise taxes much higher than we have (for instance they pay a 180% excise tax on automobiles). They also have a 25% sales tax. Which means those in the lower income brackets pay at LEAST 25% on every purchase they make (and more when local taxes and fees are applied).

Now what do you think the labor participation rate has to be in a country like that? It has to be high. Extremely high. You can't have swaths of immigrants coming in who are willing to work for cheap. You can't have entire groups of your citizens who feel they're victims and are owed a livelihood, who sit on their ass all day and don't produce and want a government check and free healthcare and social programs. The democrats would never tolerate a country like that.

Some of these countries have absurdly long parental leave programs. Technically Estonia is not a Nordic country (tho I'm sure they would argue that) but they offer 2 years of maternal leave. You have any idea how many welfare queens and hood rats would be perpetually having babies?

 

And that’s the issue — these items work overseas. Only in the US does it seem our government is incapable of doing anything better than other western nations when it comes to the welfare of our citizens.

And that boils down to the voters.

Unsurprisingly we have an entire political party that runs on destroying government and another that believes we just need to blindly throw money at it.

 

Is it even possible to have productive conversation with someone as dishonest as Ayanna?

 

There's been no accountability in Boston for a while from the state, city, and Biden/Garland's DoJ. The chickens run the chicken coop.

 

I think this is a great idea. She and her fellow libs can chip in to buy the business and keep it running. If she did that I'm sure the marginalized and underrepresented people in that area would appreciate it. She can also round up donors to buy all the businesses in California that are shutting down because of crime.

 

What's that sound? Oh yes, its the crickets from the left. Its SUPER PATHETIC she scapegoated around the reason why! I mean if you are gonna race hustle, put effort into it, at least try to be sly. Joy Reid would be very disappointed!
