Seriously. It would be an absolute slam dunk.

First off, I would immediately admit to the charges leveled against me. Whatever I was accused of doing, whether it was lewd comments, groping, public masturbation, coercing female employees into sex for promotions, or something even worse, I would own up to it because, as a progressive, I do not want to contribute to a culture that discredits women for speaking up. I read enough feminist think-pieces to know that it’s important to believe women, and in my apology, there wouldn’t be any half-assed claims about misconstruing signals or consent, no ****ing way. I would own that ****.

Also, I wouldn’t wait until a Cosby-sized crowd of victims stepped forward. The moment one woman accused me of spiking her drink, boom, I’d post a full confession about what I did to her and also any other women I had traumatized. I would get the ball rolling on my public disgrace ASAP, without dilly-dallying until after a New York Times exposé forced my hand.

I would be held so g-ddamn accountable, you wouldn’t believe it. I’m seriously getting amped just thinking about it.

I work in the corporate world and I have seen careers destroyed by false accusations made by people that trying to cover for their own deficiencies.

A few years ago that I was accused of bigotry just because I refused to accept poor work from someone. After several interviews and a boat load of paper work to support me, the accusation was dropped. I was subject to being fired for it, the guy that made the accusation faced no discipline for false accusations.

false accusations happen, many women claiming the same thing that do not know each other not so common

saying you do not know them and never been to the restaurant and one shows a year book signature from the restaurant, not good, then finding his wife went to the same school at the same time.... also not good

I know some of these accusations are false, which ones I don't know, but experience says some of these women are liars trying to get a paycheck out of it. The point I was trying to make is that accusations do not mean guilt and no matter who it is, we need to judge the accusations on a case by case basis.

The yearbook is odd. Last I saw, Moore's lawyer wanted the handwriting checked by an expert and that it wasn't signed the way Moore signs his name. If that one turns out to be false, it damages every other accusation.

 

The left gave up any pretense of morality and feminism when they defended Bill Clinton.

agreed, Moores lawyer has the signature, it's been made public, he could have experts compare previous signatures of Moore's and make them public so others can do the same - also I want the signature ink dated, I think that will tell us for sure if his or not if it is during the time frame it should be or recently inked

taking one signature and finding a couple difference it not enough, verifying a signature is not an exact science, we need many of moore's examples as that signature does look like his, he was a da, so sure signed many documents during that timeframe

The idea that multiple women would falsely accuse a powerful man like Moore strikes me as unlikely, but yes: people do make false accusations.

I don't think that's what's happening here.

 

Seriously. Isn't the notion of "innocent until proven guilty" one of the central tenets of our great nation? Now we are being told to completely throw that idea out the window anytime a woman levies an accusation against a man.

 

If the evidence is compelling - as with Moore and Franken - people WILL talk, and they WILL judge.
