Please don't take this the wrong way, not attacking just questioning. NEWSPEAK? So around 2009 the TeaParty emerged. It labeled its members "*********s" Not something the left called them, a name they gave themselves. Well, apparently, their research didn'ttell them the term was already in use. Now, over time, "*********" became an "insult" and term banned because...feelings. No one one this site EVER called anyone a "*********" because of their sexual predilections. They called them that because of a shared group behavior. ---Willful ignorance ---Racism ---A shared inability to reason through any problem... Example That it was funny was just an added bonus. Yet the word was banned as an insult when, in reality, it simply described a group behavior. The same holds true today for the term "MAGAT." It's only meaning is as a descriptor of group behavior. How about "leftist?" DIM for DEM DEM as an insult implying stupid? the terms "leftist" and "DEM" are used as insults by the people who complain about "*********" and "MAGAT" yet those words are not banned or even flagged. There's more. This Is trolling But this "LOL," "LMAO" and these Are not. They are linguistically equivalent so why is one "trolling" but the others are not. Which circles back to "NEWSPEAK" Apparently some people's feelings are so sensitive we must adjust our language to accommodate their feelings by forcing the elimination of words and images that carry no insult but apparently hurt their feelings. I find the dynamic interesting ESPECIALLY among those who complain about "censorship" since the both complain about it and practice it.
