    Hello everybody,
I live in israel and a student in high school.
Something began seeming wrong to me on the last vacation. In israel, many of the tutorial hours are unecessarily dedicated to the bible and another subjects around it.As a jewish who secretly keeps away from having faith in god,I feel the taught material is not focused on many other subjects like math and english.
Israel is mindless of the severe educational condition, and keeps concentrating on the safety instead of another important issues.Stats prove that the progression of the israeli students with subjects such as english and math is very low relatively to the stats in europe. It doesn't result in ignorance of our kids, only a wrong list of priorities causes low grades and lack of basic knowledge.it has to be amended as fast as possible for the reason it started being a large gap that after will be impossible to be fixed.
Personally,i attempt to learn english alone and base all my essential knowledge on the net.I feel that the school doesn't give us the appropriate manners for a good living.Maybe Israel is military elaborated but still right behind the top of the most developed countries generally.I'm really sorry for that because i believe it can be different from what it is today.

Your English is very good and i agree your country should be focusing more on mathematics and sciences than religion, as all schools in the world should. I've always firmly believed that development of one's personal religious beliefs are best left to the individual and not endorsed by state or other groups. I was wondering though what kind of art, acting, and musical options are there in Israeli schools? Are some schools more focused on the arts or is there a lack of development for youth in that area?
Anyways with the protests going on right now it would be a good time to voice your concerns through protest as the outcome may greatly affect your future as well.

At my school, you can choose two another professions except for the regular material.I have learned well math and english to get the best professions such as electronics and physics.I've thought it would be different from the studies so far but completetly got wrong.Instead of having more tutorial hours that focus on sciences and logic development,we have to inevitably learn for an exam on secondary material like bible.
However,i have to say that my teachers to electronics and physics are really nice and also encourage the school to leave the "ancient studies" behind and have a new learning plan that makes the students have easier time advancing later.
I'm sad for whom is not chosen to learn scientific material because he misses an opportunity to have knowledge of modern subjects which are really significant today.

I want to talk specifically about my english,in israel, the english level is really low in the wake of deficient investment. My english especially comes from movies and reading articles on the net-even though it's still very poor.Obviously no english means directly unsuccessful life.In our ever changing world, the global communication grows increasingly and is not about to stop at the moment.then,it's very important to teach our children in their youths how to master English.

Allegiance, you are obviously brighter than most. Schools are designed to meet, hopefully, the needs of an entire population so that at best it's designed for below average students. Some schools have "advanced" placement classes but even that falls short for some people. When I was in school I thought the biggest challenge for the school was to teach you to learn without a school but I also realized for many students that would never be possible.

So, learn on you own and from people with experience. My wife wanted to learn to bake bread and whined that she could find a class. I took her down the street to a bakery and two weeks later she could bake bread and we'd made a new friend of the baker. I've learned much over the years from old people who were time travelers.

Don't ever quit reading and don't ever quit learning.

Good luck and have a wonderful life.
