im not worried about the race of the person my child dates, im worried about their chracter and how they carry themselves. say if my daughter comes home and introduces her black boyfriend to me im gonna take a look at him and listen to how he presents himself. if he comes up looking like some ghetto moron with gold teeth and pants 4 people can fit into and wearing them below his ass and i cant understand a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing he is saying ima tell him to get the hell away from my kid. now if he presents himself as a nice kid, dresses neat, atleasts acts like he is educated and does nothign worse than makes the same mistakes and kid can and will make then ill be glad to let them see where the friendship or relationship goes.

Only being attracted to our own race/ethnicity is not any more "racist" than it is "homophobic" to only be attracted to the opposite sex.

 

There's preference then there's racist. Your eye preference may include tall dark and handsome, or it may include short, and tubby.

My preference before I met my husband was tall dark and handsome. I didn't have any restrictions as to who I wouldn't date, but my PREFERENCE was tall, and dark. God has a sense of humor though, he sent me a blond haired blue eyed gentlemen that canceled out my preference. After awhile you stop looking at the external...well at least mature ppl do.

 

The difference, at least to me, is that racist attractions are a learned response, taught at the knee of someone with a similar belief structure.

I don't think anyone who is straight could be "taught" to be gay, any more than the "reparitive therapies" can teach a gay person to be straight.

This puts you in a pickle. Either you agree that they are both taught, and so there is no inherent truth in either, or you agree that they are both inherent, and thus should be respected as minority truths of the human condition.

Or do you believe that racism is inherent and all the gays have been taught to be attracted to their own sex? How did this massive indoctrination of gays occur, and by who? Almost every parent of a gay person was straight, so it didn't occur in the family. Is there a roving band of homosexual indoctrinators combing the land?

when my child started dating, I took her to the doctor for deprovera (sp) shots every 3 months, I was young once, so i knew it was only a matter of time, all worked out well

I'm not concerned about race at all. As long as my child is in a union with their husband or wife, I support them forming a family.

 

Your post reminds me of a video I saw the other day about a man robbing a convenience store who got shot by another guy in the store who had a concealed carry permit. The mother of the thug said to a reporter, "That guy who shot my son should have minded his own business." Pathetic. Oh, and before anyone reaches for their race card, I'd like to point out that the man who shot the black thug was an upstanding black man with a concealed carry permit. And the man who posted the video on youtube is a black man named Tommy Sotomayor. THUG = violence driven bully, regardless of ethnicity.

You are correct that people are free to say things online they wouldn't say in real life. It's generally considered safer that way, and I see no issue with this. If it's daylight outside and a group of 30 UFC fighters walks up to me and says it's dark outside, and dares me to disagree with them, I'm still right, even if I dare not say it. People should be free to have their own opinions without fear of violent reprisal. I agree with various parts of your post, although not all of it. One other valid point, so I can illustrate a key difference: Walk up to a white guy and say that you think George Zimmerman is a guilty racist. He may disagree, but in the vast majority of instances, that's where it will end, he more than likely won't violently assault you over his disagreement.

Now, walk down MLK Blvd in any city in America and walk up to a poor black person and say that you think George Zimmerman was innocent. Then please upload a picture to the forum showing us how many teeth you still have (provided you are still alive to upload the photo, that is).

What's wrong with that? I think mixed race people tend to be more attractive than people of any particular race, mainly because they have a very unique and exotic look to them, and dont have the stereotypical features of any race.

as long as I've got my pistol where I can reach it swiftly, I'll say the same thing to 30 UFC guys that I'd say to anyone else. if 6 of them get shot in the first 2 seconds of the melee (and they will, too) the rest wo'nt want any, that much is guaranteed.
