There are more than example. I suggest reading The Coming Plague, if you are interested in evolutionary changes in disease.
Evolution is change in species over time, and is a readilly observable fact. Natural Selection is the theory offered to explain evolution. If Natural Selection were a 5000 pc jigsaw puzzle, we would have enough pieces put together to clearly see it's a picture of a castle. Anti Natural Selectionists constantly point to the missing pieces to call into question our theory that the puzzle picture is indeed a castle.
I'd think it'd be difficult to ignore the overwhelming amount of evidence to support it, but time and again I find folks on here with their heads still in the sand. Modern day flat earthers IMHO.
You make an excellent point. If a majority believes something without verifiable evidence you're ignorant not to.
Please remove your fingers from you ears.. don't be scarred, it's ok to learn things. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2004416183_webstickleback15m.html
You keep saying that, but it's verifiabley false, repeating the same lie will never make it true. Common decent and natural selection have weathered more criticism than virtually any theory ever. It's not a coincidence it's accepted by virtually everyone educated on the subject. What you're alternate theory for the diversity of life here on earth?
This is the problem right here. If you can't figure something out, force feed your existing theories on everyone and present them as facts.
So... you haven't offered an alternative? Adaptation along with natural selection ARE evolutionary mechanisms. You don't get to agree with one and not the other. Same with genetics and heredity, if you believe they're real, you by default support evolution whether you know it or not. Choosing to be ignorant is a silly choice.
Never once has evolution been presented as fact, only a sound theory with no better alternatives to explain the diversity of life on earth. I'm trying to force feed it to you because it's sad watching people wallow in their own ignorance, opposing something you clearly don't understand is a pretty dumb thing to do.
I recently heard about some kind of fish I think....somewhere near Australia that was caught red handed in the act of evolving to different water temperatures or some thing...I'll do some reseacrh some I'm not talking out my nethers. BTW...life has existed on Earth for about 3.5 Billion years, and are you challenging evolution based on not enough evolving going on in 100 years?, or 1000 years?, or even 10,000 years?
Hybrid sharks? "This is evolution in action" http://www.stuff.co.nz/science/6212537/Hybrid-sharks-evolution-in-action
I understood that our problem with finding a workable 'flu vacine every year is that the life-form responsible keeps evolving. It will be up to writing Genesis soon, I imagine!
Those who deny evolution should simply request last years flu shot. After all, living things do not evolve.
Here are many examples of observed speciation: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-speciation.html#part5 http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/speciation.html Conclusion: "Speciation has never been observed!" is a laughably false claim. Prediction: Creationists will now move the goalposts.
That is their only method, Creationism is not an argument by itself. Instead relies on "well, you have excavated the entire earth nor have you collected every fossil, so evolution can't be true!11111 lulz".
