There! That'll teach 'em! Read the piece @ http://xbradtc.com/2014/06/14/president-takes-decisive-action-in-iraq/
I wonder exactly what "decisive action" should be taken? Perhaps we should flip a coin, pick a side, and start another war for them. I for one hope we just watch as this plays out, they are not worth the effort.
Wow! NO difference between the Maliki government and the forces of ISIS? How do you penetrate denial like that?
Yes, there is a difference. Maliki was installed by the occupying forces of a military invader. Perhaps that explains why his soldiers toss their weapons and uniforms in the street and run away when they confront a numerically inferior contingent of ISIS forces?
Fortunately the people that make real geopolitical calculation will not care that Bush installed the Maliki government and their main focus, as adults that actually think about things, will be how to counter the forces of ISIS.
Considering I did not even hint at the silly words you just placed in my mouth...I have no idea what "Denial" you refer to. Do you make a habit of making stuff up to argue with....or are you simply a bit on the slow side? I believe I made it clear to anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the English language that NONE of these players are worth our effort in my opinion...Though I am sure your advanced knowledge of them allows for amazing insight.
I'm curious what right wingers think Obama should have done or do in this case. Obama promised to get us out of that hell hole situation in Iraq and he did. We have no business in Iraq's civil war. We need to tend to our nation. And like most right wingers, most of the pro-war posters on this forum are chickenhawks who've never enlisted or fought for anything but to be the first in line for the all you can eat buffet
Funny in another thread less than 24 hours ago you criticized the president for not acting faster - - - Updated - - - Yes they complained about air strikes in Libya, and now they are complaining about not sending air strikes into Iraq
Gosh! So snarky and toxic in it's condescending dismissal. But I didn't make up the part in your post about flipping a coin and choosing a side in the Iraq civil war (though it's not truly a civil war). If that doesn't convey the idea that both sides are virtually indistinguishable I don't know what does. Therefore your heated words are a joke and it's easy to see who really is a bit slow on the uptake.
If Obama really wanted to stop them from beheading each other, he should threaten to unfriend them. Hashtags sometimes just don't have the impact that you think they would.
Air support. Coordinated attacks with covert military on the ground helping to target. Similar to what the CIA did in Afghanistan before regular US Military was moved in. ISIS? Isnt it ironic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_for_the_Secularisation_of_Islamic_Society http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_in_Iraq_and_the_Levant
Nonsense. You can argue we installed Ayad Allawi, although he was in fact elected by the Iraq Interim Governing Council. And we tried to install him as the winner of the first Iraqi elections, but the Iraqis selected Maliki instead.
Excellent point, quite possibly the only valid point. They refuse to fight for themselves. Americans would wouldn't they. We allow a lot of crap in this country but never would we stand by for the stuff they roll over for. We gave it the old college try. They could have stepped up to the challenge and become a country of laws and backbone. They didn't. How many times do you pull the same suicide off the tracks before the train kills you both. Forkem.
The 'decisive action' is to NOT DESTROY THE AMERICAN REPUTATION OVER 5 YEARS OF BALL-LESS IMPOTENCE. Every thug enemy of America has been empowered by Obama;s inept fumbling.
Until we get a more experienced leader in the white house we should wait out everything. He clearly doesn't know what he is doing and any decision made by this bumbling president would surely be a disaster.
