The Political Forum Guide to Political Discussion for Everyone

    Yes indeed, a new one.

I have crafted left wing ones and right wing ones, but here stands one for everyone.

    Enjoy.

    1. Your position on any issue directly corresponds to the stance your party has on the issue. Defend it at all costs.

    2. When the other person asks the same question over and over attempting to get you to answer in a way that would prove favorable to them it is trolling. When you do it you are pressing for the truth.

    3. Argue constantly that highly biased sources such as HuffPo, The Weekly Standard, and WND are legitimate if the story they are running has a slant on it that supports your position. If it does not, the source is crap.

    4. Never, ever, apologize or admit you are wrong. Ever. Despite the fact that you clearly and publicly are, insist you are correct. Wear the other person down. Keep being wrong long enough and they will get bored with you.

    5. Remember, Clinton was impeached for his affair, Obama bailed out the banks, and Bush is the sole cause of the recession. Despite not a single one of these being true, repeat them nonstop.

    6. History is there to be revised to fit the current argument. Example: Hitler was elected to office. Though he was not, never actually check your history before posting.

    7. When hopelessly losing an argument either questions the masculinity of the other person or state that they live in their mother’s basement.

    8. Confuse talking heads on Fox and MSNBC, along with radio, with actual journalism.

    9. The mods are biased against you no matter where on the political spectrum you are.

Let's call it an amalgam of behavior that transcended party, brought on by the fact that both sides behave poorly in the world and in this microcosm that we write in.

Will Democrats,Liberals and the Mainstream Lamstream media ever
just knock it off. There is NO one Playbook or theorem for Political
survival. You are so daffy.Like there's a playbook for winning in
    Football or Basketball.
Like there's a playbook for getting into Heaven.
Life has to be Lived, experienced and done.
Heaven has to be earned, just like an NCAA Basketball Tournement or
    a Super Bowl.
Liberals always want an easy way out.A Politically expedient way.
That's why I both dislike and distrust Liberals and the Democrats.
    They want.They desire.They crave ... :

    Shortcuts

You missed a HUGE chunk of posts at this forum!!

    - Invent an argument for the political opposition/the person you are debating, argue against that position while ignoring everything the other person has to say!!

The number of straw men at this forum is overwhelming at times, and it is one of the key debate tactics of almost all the members of this forum!! You can't make a list like you made without mentioning it.

Sounds about right. It's easy to fall into these trappings, I'd imagine most of us have at some point.

Insult and be a complete jerk with every single post you make (no exceptions) and cry like a little girl when I am condescending and dismissive.

    10. Blogs are the end-all-be-all sources that are not biased and can never, ever, ever lie. EVER. Accept it.

    11. Never ever bother to check if your argument (good or bad as it may be) may contain logical fallacies. For example, women shouldn't be voting in elections now because before the 1920s women were not allowed to vote back then, so by logic that's the right way (appeal to tradition fallacy).

    12. Obama is a socialist, communist, Stalinist, Marxist, Nazi, racist, radicalist, extremist, fascist, Kenyan, Muslim, Christian, Indonesian, British, Black Supremacist, corporatist, hate-mongerer, progressivist, anti-freedom, leftist, classless, terrorist person. Repeat this as often as necessary, despite the fact that many of the above terms directly contradict each other.

    Which brings up:

    13. Generalize as much as possible. If x number of people all express a different viewpoint but are generally on the same "side", then all people on that side express all of those viewpoints. E.g. if one person says Obama is a socialist, and another says he's a Muslim, then all people who have the same political leanings of those two people claim that Obama is a Socialist and a Muslim.

    14. In accordance with rule #10, any story that makes a given political figure look good or bad should be taken as the truth, especially if it suits your agenda. Do not bother to factcheck the story or research it to make sure its the full story with all the details and not just some half-assed attempt at journalism.

    15. I am always right, no matter what I say.

    16. Always assert that American society should adopt a certain tradition because other countries do or don't have that luxury. Ignore the fact that we don't live in those other countries.

    17. Martin Luther King Jr was a terrorist and a horrible man. Why? No reason is needed, just keep saying it.

    18. Spamming white supremacist sites and stories across the forum until you think people will care.

    19. State that Congressman/President/Vice President ______ is a lot like a dictator, especially Hitler. Do not accurately state reasons for this and do not acknowledge the fact that the people you mentioned have done absolutely nothing close to murdering 12 million people for having different genes, most of them Jews, singlehandedly starting the bloodiest conflict in history, attempted to take over the world, could've succeeded in doing so and leaving half of Europe in smoldering ruins.
