I and many others sincerely believe Obama has been delusional in his determination to engage in meaningful discussions with hostile U.S. adversaries such as Iran, North Korea, Syria and Venezuela. If all cases, his attempts to get these rogue nations to reconcile their differences and their hatred of the USA and our democratic principles have blown up in his face and have been totally unproductive. Obama seems to believe the fact he has now removed all U.S. troops from Iraq will be a feather in his cap he can somehow use to assure his re-election in November. Unfortunately, the Republicans can use this latest more against him and independent voters in key states of Ohio or Florida will not swayed by Obama's decision remove our U.S. troops if Iraqis, who have had so many differences with each other in the past, go back to once again slaughtering one another! Time will tell if Obama's loss in the next election was the direct result of his recent foreign policy mistakes and his own wrong doing. If so, Obama will be unfortunate. "As he heads into the last year of his first term, the presidents biggest failures have been his own ideas."
All we really need to know is that President Obama's approval rating remains around 75% overseas which seems to indicate he's doing everything right... for foreign interests. Too bad his domestic approval ratings reflect what a poor job he's done for Americans.
This is what Obama left behind in Iraq http://www.periscopepost.com/2011/12/bomb-blasts-rock-baghdad-iraq-in-political-turmoil/
What has Bush got to do with Obama's massive failure as POTUS? He said he was the man to turn things around. He made many promises he didn't keep, because HE is the ultimate con job. He's a liar and a let down. If the morons who've overrun this country re-elect him, we're all the worse off for it. When I read your posts, I feel utter contempt for them. Lame-O
He's had some foreign policy failures indeed -- primarily because, when you scratch below the surface, the policies are the same as Bush's. Obama might have a more diplomatic image than Bush, but for all practical purposes, he's been making the same decisions and simply finishing up plans drawn up by the previous administration. When people act like they're different, it's usually just a matter of partisanship. All 2008 really did was switch faces and names.
You are very correct, Serfin' USA! Actually, when you come right down to it, Obama is worse than Bush! "When it comes to governmental abuse of power, spying on Americans by the National Security Agency and loss of freedom under the USA Patriot Act, Obama is worse than Bush. Since taking office, Obama has increased the power of the NSA, broaded the scope of warrantless wiretapping of Americans and done nothing to scale back the many abuses of the Patriot Act. To the contrary, the Obama administration backs changes that would make the act more powerful and more intrusive into the lives of ordinary Americans." http://www.capitolhillblue.com/node/20310
No, thanx Obama for not leaving in a way that would leave a peoples government in place that could serve the people. Instead Obama left a country with 2 factions fighting for power
Obama's Foreign Policy is easy: supporting Rise of Islam and transformation American friends to enemies.
haha nice one - i disliked pres obamas decision to kiss up to the enemies for sure - i thought he was just being a guy who was pandering to the cameras and the bush haters, i dont think anyone relaly thought any progress would happen if there werent crazy dictators out there, war would prob not be necessary
You are indeed correct, Albert. And want do the Democrats want to do? They want to leave our troops in "harm's way" while they cut our military budget and the costs it takes to successfully defend them!
The Democrats have shown they will use American involvement in overseas conflicts for domestic political purposes whenever a conservative holds the presidency. This essentially means that the country can't use force as an instrument of foreign policy unless a Democrat is president. This breaks the Social Contract as far as I'm concerned. It also makes leftists our internal enemies.
Oh, I can think of a few of Obama's foreign initiatives that were not failures: - Operation to get Bin Laden - Operation to track and kill Anwar Awlaki - Conflict to Aid Libyan Rebels - Operations to kill/capture Somali pirates - Cut Russian Nuclear stockpiles faster than previous START treaties - Successful and uneventful withdraw from Iraq - Improved the overall opinion of the world about the U.S. http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/views_on_countriesregions_bt/680.php + All these could have their respective blowback in the long term, but the immediate aims of the administration were achieved in each case.
Also, Obama wants to pass a new law that allows Mexican nationals to come over here and vote in our presidential elections!
Obama's good at assassination. His foreign policy is a disaster. The people running Libya are Islamists. The people running Egypt are going to be Islamists. Same thing in Tunisia. Same thing in Syria. Iran is on the brink of obtaining nuclear weapons. China and America are getting ready for conflict in the Western Pacific. Iranian president Ahmadinejad is in Venezuela right now laughing at America and its president. Failure everywhere. Now Obama is reduced to assassinating Iranian scientists and blowing up their facilities. America can't fight clandestine wars like this. There will be tremendous blowback and acrimony. Failure everywhere. Who wants to fight over Obama's foreign policy? I feel like eating someone's lunch. Edit: Obama snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq. Because of Obama Iraq stands on the verge of renewed civil war that will play into the hands of Iran. Failure everywhere.
