Not for any particular reason, other than just being in the mood to listen to one or two this morning, I was wondering whether people have any particular favourite TV/Movie (Film) theme music. Which are the best ones? As I was typing that first bit, I mistyped 'mood' as 'ood'. Must have been a subconcious thing relating to what is clearly (in my opinion) the best TV theme ever written. Those who know what I'm talking about will know what I'm talking about. For those who don't, here's a couple of incarnations of it, starting with the version from the 2013 BBC Proms: Here's the (short!) version I grew up on, with title sequence: And (for the real hardcore anoraks!) here's the full collection of extended theme versions, up to the 50th anniversary:
And it would be hard to start this thread off without this:
One of my favorite (funniest, and shortest running) shows of all time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm_t3g4RhpY
An oldie . . . "Park Avenue Beat" (aka the Perry Mason theme song). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paAIbMKb7eY
For a motion picture, I like the movie score from "Midnight Cowboy." For a TV show, I like the theme song from "Have Gun Will Travel."
