There's many a slip between cup and lip. There are many 'conceptual designs' and few flying aircraft. I have a conceptual design of a Bussard ramjet, but it is not likely I will be leaving for Proxima Centauri anytime soon.

 

The truth is: Russia even has no 5th-gen jets in series, but hypothesizes about 6th generation. Russia likes to exaggerate its own power, as USSR did.
Russian economy is weak, so it can`t afford extremely expensive modern jets.
How much 5th-gen fighters does Russia have? Just some prototypes.
For example, USA have about 200 serial jets. Simple math.

I am not sad....I do however understand that creating an extremely complex and capable aircraft that incorporates new technologies and design, is going faster than all before it, can shoot down multiple enemies before they even know it is there, and is the test platform for the next generation of fighter aircraft is not an easy task...I also understand that it is a real jet instead of a pipe dream.

We hear a lot about Russian aggression and NATO aggression but in the end I do not see either side pushing it to the point of all out war. Putin has acted logically so far and I would say so has Obama (even if I disagree with those actions). So most likely it will be more sabre rattling and then some kind of peace conference where everyone can get their picture taken and get their names in the history books.
