Many of the discussions of abortion seem to center around essentially religious views

My question is whether law should be set based upon religion?
It seems to me that religion has, and should have no standing in setting our law
Adultry is not a legal question despite what the bible says
Masturbation and or sodomy are not crimes despite what the bible says
So why should we consider the bible in setting the law on abortion?

    America doesn't.

    The bible doesn't mention abortion.

Not everyone believes in the bible.

    The bible isn't the law.

The bible shouldn't be considered in any law.

Religion should have no place in the governance of a country, it should have zero influence on law .. religion should solely be a personal thing and only effect the individual.
